They are insincere.... don't buy it for a minute. Public schools in the area are much better and real.
The experience that both of my Son's had attending St.Anns will be with them for the rest of their lives. The curriculum that was offered to them was second to none and as well rounded and diverse as any parent could ask for.I believe the values and the quality of the education received has helped them ,throughout their educational experience and I am appy to state that both of my Son's graduated from St. Ann's and attended Universities ,which they were well prepared for and have graduated .
My child attended St. Ann's and I felt that the school was more into patting my child on the back then teaching. We were unhappy at St. Ann's, and moved onto Dalton, and so far my husband and I are very happy with our child's education.
I respectfully disagree with Sarah's comment. St. Ann's students are not 'all loud and charasmatic' and, in fact, one of the best things about the school is that teachers take the time to hear what the quiet and less-extroverted kids have to say. If you are a parent looking at Saint Ann's, send your child there. It will be the best decision you ever make for him or her. Saint Ann's reinforces a culture of learning that has helped me excel not only while I was there but also at the college that I now attend. I would not trade my time at Saint Ann's for anything and give it a large chunk of credit for the person I am today.
A fantastic school based off a fantastic philosophy creating a love of learning. Without grades, and with fantastic teachers Saint Ann's is the very embodiment of perfection in education.
We have: the best teachers, the best students, the best classes, the best fashion sense. We have no grades so we learn for learnings sake alone, and we still get our students into the best colleges.
I go to saint anns with my sister and it is the best school on the planet. Don't listen to the other reviews that say its bad - this school is spectacular! I'm the only student reviewing so I really would know that this school is amazing. Every new kid that has come to my grade- 6 out of 6 have made tons of friends! The teachers at our school are extremely smart and nice. They all understand the way to teach so no one is confused. The sport activity is great and so is the academic level of the teachers and students. There are no grades so instead of passing or failing, the teacher writes out very helpful comments on your paper. Overall - favorite school and I wouldn't go anywhere else if I could!
A fine school, but maybe not the best in the area. Students are certainly bright and creative, but are often smug and self-congratulatory. They seem to nurture know-it-alls who don't in fact know it all. Drug use is a problem, as it is in many high schools. if the 'fit' is right socially, then your child will find friends. However, the students are all loud and charasmatic, and if your child isn't the right fit, they may struggle there, socially and academically. In hindsight, I wish I had sent my child elsewhere.
I think saint anns is an amazing school with a great vibe. Not only that but the teachers and the choices are amazing! My kid loves going to school!
My daughter is in 8th grade at St. Ann. I believe she is a bit lost. Adequate preparation for the now expected was never provided in earlier grades. Problems should have spotted and addressed when they were happening. My daughter if highly intelligent, but St. Ann's did not provide a solid foundation. Yes, they nurture difference and creativity, but do not seem to provide consistently the basic tools for full expression of those differences and creativity. If you are not a natural 'winner' (and I mean that in the less discussed PC sense), forget it! I don't think St. Ann's knows what to do with the 'quiet ones,' the uncertain children that are not fully confident, who might have some apprehension about school, success, learning, etc. This is a wonderful school, perhaps the best in New York city, if the fit is correct. It is definitely not for everyone, however.
