I love happy home academy and so does my entire family . Yes , like every school there is space for improvement , I will love to be a part of it . We have 2 kids there , and 1 more in next year . Plus , 2 cousins there too . The owners are lovely people , the teachers are easy to communicate with . Makes my life easier being a full time working mom of 3
If your child does not fit the mold of how they think a child should be, they will be labeled, and possibly be ostracized. Some teachers just plain old yell at kids. As far as the level of academics..its intense, but you see results. Some parents I talked to felt the homework workload was a lot. They tend to teach a grade above their current grade level which is great. They lack a school yard, and formal library (if that matters to you). They have their daily worship which was great. In the beginning my child was inspired, and liked the teachers from previous years who maintained a balance of support/encouragement & constructive criticism. Some teachers are disgruntled & unfriendly. I noticed that my child's attitude was declining because the teacher showed no support. I had talks with the teacher, she was clueless, & disengaged. All I'm saying is keep an open dialogue with your child and the teacher. As parents, we know when something is off with our kids behavior. Just because you are paying tuition doesn't mean its the right fit for your child. The biggest negative for me with Happy Home is that there is not enough fun programs to offset all that academic work these kids do.
I asked questions regarding the schools performance and the amount of teachers that were in a classroom to care for toddlers and I was basically told that I have to pay a $40 registration fee to get any questions answered, view the school or get a pamphlet or brochure about the school.
Great school!!! My daughter went there from Kindergarten to 3rd grade and I must say that I am very pleased about the quality of education and descipline that she received there.
