WCS is not rated an "A" School. It lacked with "College Readiness"... which I agree..wcs has insuficcient guidence counsellors to really support the children with applications for College. On the other hand to help improve College readiness they hired an outside group for SAT Prep...which my daughter states has helped. This is my second child @ WCS and I pulled her from an "A" school where I was concerned about not the ciriculum but "peer pressure" and "negative influence" from other students. At WCS she has truly blossomed and relaxed into being a warm kind and considerate human being. She has made good friends and is comfortable with who she is. She is also an excellent and diligent student. WCS may not be the best school for everyone, but for both my children, I think it has been the right fit to maximize their potential as contibitory human beings to society. It is not only important to be intellectually strong, but also to be able to differentiante right from wrong and to have a sense of citizenship and community. We live in a globally changing world and I believe for our children to succeed they must be able see people from other races and cultures as they see themselves.

Williamsburg CHarter High School isn't a good school I'm a parent I had to pick up my son from school because the school was throwing water balloons having food fights that's crazy and students getting arrested I'm taking my son out of this school.

I'm not sure who thinks charter is a dream come true because it has been an absolute nightmare. From a constant change of faculty and staff to failing to meet deadlines, it has been the biggest failure entrusting the most important time in my daughter's life to the people at Charter. From the head of the school to security there are constant mistakes, lack of concern for students, and decisions that make no sense. there have been issues like moving the students from their school to the loft spaces to hold classes, delaying their start date at the new campus, moving to the new building while it was still under construction, not updating report cards before they were sent, questionable hiring practices, not having the heat on til mid October because the system wasn't ready...i could go on and on. Not to mention the CEO; the stories the staff could tell...if they weren't so afraid of retaliation. these have been the longest few years of our lives. My daughter can't wait to be done! The 2 positives: the new building is gorgeous AND the few teachers who are vested have really made a difference in my daughter's education. Thank God for those few!

This school was an answer to my prayers. My son loves this school and I do too! The staff are amazing and dedicated. They even learn Latin!
