I have two children in this school and both of them started when they were in 5th grade. This school is the best thing that could have happened for my family. They focus on academics, and my children learn not only quality content but at a high level. My son for example was already strong in math prior to enrolling in the school and he was actually able to tutor a college student in math with the techniques he learned. My daughter is a book worm and this school so they have enhanced her writing skills and give her a lot of challenging books to read an interpret. I absolutely love this school.

My child has been an A/Honor Roll student every school year, since 5th grade, she graduates next month and I will miss this school. I never worried about her safety or had to address any fighting issues. This school has a zero tolerance for that type of behavior and violence and fighting is grounds for being expelled. Their schools trip are affordable, mostly free and life learning experiences/enhancements. Class sizes are small and modeled and named after their homeroom teachers' college where they graduated. I found this as an excellent to show our kids what to expect and to look forward to when they go to college. Moreover, it serves as practice too, to participate in college pride rallys and school debates. This school is one of NY's best kept secrets! But should serve as a model to most of the struggling middle schools in our city. Truly they will be missed!!! Four flights up and not one parent mentioned that! Shows how great it is!! lol

This is an excellent school my daughter just graduated. Her class was the 2nd graduating class since the school open their doors and I have to say that the staff is amazing. They are all extremely helpful anc caring. My daughter attended a regular public school before I unfortunately she wasn't pushed to do her best. In this school kids are challenged every day to do their best not only in their school work, but also in their personal lives. I recommend this school to all the parents I know that have kids entering the 5th grade. My son is now also attending and my younger daughter will definetly be attending as well.

WC goes above and beyond a parents typical expectations. I've been very pleased with the friendly, safe nature of the school community as well as incredibly able teachers and staff.

Enrolling in WCCS is the best decision that I could ever make for my daughter. The school makes the learning process interesting for the students. My daughter tells me she is no longer bored in her classes. She likes doing her work and she has started reading more books. Students are well-disciplined and are also rewarded for good behavior when appropriate. I would recommend the school to every parent.

There are good schools who really pay attention to the children overall needs to flurish and grow. The teachers are suppose to help children learn and grow with the experience of learning and developing into young men and women who will prog'ress as adults. If this is what you need and want. Don't Send your child to this school. Please check out all details of the school as much as you can. My child was an A student now she is a C. Enough said. The teachers are new to the teaching themselves. So how can it be progress. If the ones that are teaching don't have a clue.

The school has a lot of flaws in it, the teachers are new to the teaching profession and it shows. The school itself was not given enouth thought on how it is suppose to perform. They just have a lot of rules, even for the students that do exactly what they are suppose to do, If one child wont listen, all the children are punished to the max a lot of the time, This causes strees for the kids who do listen, I would not recommend you to send your child there, unless he or she has problems listening to the teachers and need to be diciplined instead of learning. This school should be watched. I think and feel they will be losing a lot more students next year.

This is my son's second year in wccs. Last year my son was close to being held back because of reading and math. The saturday school and the 3 week summer program helped so much that he achieved a high average in reading achievement in the month of september of this year ,school just started .He is so excited!

My child is just now enrolled in this school and its like winning the lottery. An education that is the same quality as an expensive private school and teachers that really care.

great education, an excellent staff of educators. The fact that they are sharing space on the top floor of another school takes away from their overall score. the extra tutoring and saturday school is a great help to children in need. The only negative topic about the school is they have yet to learn how to deal with growing needs of young adults, they seem to smother all issues with academics instead of approaching the mater in mature nature, many forms of discipline are juvenile.

The school provides great opportunities for students and often celebrate student success. My daughter has grown into a thoughtful young woman at this school.
