This is a great school and I think my child is working at a very high level. My daughter has been attending since kindergarten and she loves it. Her reading abilities and her self esteem is very high. She started school at age 3. Her first year of school was spent at a Catholic school and her second year she attended a public school. The public school was her worst experience. There nothing and what they thought her was the same. One good thing they did was recommend her to the gifted and talented test where she scored a 99. At Leadership Prep Bedfordstuy my daughter reads 2 grades above her level, she currently in grade one. The only fault the school has is there isn t any fun program for the kids to relax.

The individual who submitted the first review could not of been a parent. I am a teacher my neice attend the oceanhill charter school, I find that the teachers in these new schools lack knowledge in dealing with African American children primarily the kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. I find that the overzealous discipline has left kids fearful and has distroyed self esteem. The Principals and their staff are so eager to meet their 5yr grade/accountability that they are putting their foots on the necks of most vulnerable (the little ones and the special need) children in order to meet their need in one year. Bottom line...think twice before you send your child to one of these new schools..do the research...you could be doing more harm to you children mentally than good.

I love this school. My daughter has been attending since kindergarten, she is now in 2nd grade. Her teachers are wonderful, they interact with us regularly, and always give positive and helpful feed back. The school expects your child to be well behaved and they expect them to follow the rules. They hold the student to high standards as they should. If your child is well behaved and eager to learn its a wonderful school. If you want your child to be held to a higher standard then this is the school for you both! The parents that seem to have trouble with this school are the ones who's children aren't use to following rules. (again) Well behaved children excel. This school wonderful.

Horrible relationship with parents. There is no Parent Association.
