Ugh...I am discusted..just discusted at this school. Please do not send your child here NO MATTER WHAT. The childeren are cliquey, the parents are cliquey and not to mention the HORRIBLE teachers. Oh dont even get me started on them. They are unpatient with the kids that need extra help in certain subjects and yell at the kids, not caring about the MAJOR bullying in the 4th and 5th grade. I just had my 5th grader graduate from here and she was miserable this whole year! We will not send our preschooler here next year. The only teachers that are nice are the 2nd and 4th grade!
To the person who was asking if city of buffalo kids could attend, to answer your question, Jefferson is no where near the city of buffalo it is located in tonawanda, far from city of buffalo! It is in the kenton school distract.
So are Buffalo kids able to attend this school? It is located in the city of Buffalo but says it serves Kon-Ton students?
for the most part jefferson has good points and bad points, just like anywhere. commenting on the 2011 notes -- i think the parents are the worst than the kids when it comes to cliques and bullies. depending on the teacher again there are very good ones and bad ones. if a child has a learning problem i would definitely stay away from the neuro psych lady--she is a cookie cutter of all cookie cutters. make sure you are very educated about any problems, issues regarding your child and do not back down to your gut feeling. Mr liacata (sp)is one of the best. we have had a good experience but the school is starting to fall among the top schools in the district.
Not happy, the teachers arent friendly but a couple, the kids are cliquey, bullies. The teachers have no control over the kids and yell and think that is the answer. I dont suggest this school if your child is sensitive. It looks like a sweet school but the 5th grade is tough.
well, there are goods and bads, the gym at jefferson has heart rate monitors!!!! Ridicolous!!!!!! Jefferson has kids from age 4 to 11 and using heart rate monitors on the fifth graders is totally ridicolous...the kids are mean and cliquey...only a couple kids that are nice....teachers dont enjoy helping the kids, makes the kids nervous. Some teachers are VERY nice, some even have pets! The 4th grade at Jefferson is great!! 2nd grade too!
My son went to Thomas Jefferson Elementary for K-2nd grade. We loved the school. Teachers were attentive, bright and caring. The principal was wonderful. We enjoyed going into the classrooms and observing the daily activities. My son was involved in the yearly talent shows and it was the hightlight of the year. I highly recommend this school.
We have a 2nd grader at Thomas Jefferson. This is a great school! We've been there 3 years. The teachers and staff have all been very professional and helpful. The principal knows the children by name. The class sizes were just right. The teachers are very involved. My son has a very dedicated teacher, again! We look forward to our other children continuing their education at this excellent school!
