Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I am a graduate from Davinci high school class 2007. The education I received was excellent. The faculty and teachers are fantastic and provide a welcoming environment. After graduation I attended Niagara University, one of the most high ranking private universities in the area. davinci students are always encouraged to strive for the best. Thank you to all of the key people who pushed me to achieve a better me and a better future. Dedicated to Mrs. McKenzie. You will always be in the hearts of the students you took under your wing.

This school is second to none. I am proud to say that my daughter graduated from this school and I also have a son who is now a sophmore here. A couple years ago the City of Buffalo proposed a merger of Da Vinci with Grover Cleveland High School and the students, faculty, parents, and alumni joined forces and were able to stop the merger. Once again the Board is proposing the same thing and once again we are all joining together to stop the merger. This is a small school yes, but, one with a BIG HEART. It has a graduation rate of over 90% it has gotten National Recognition as one of the best High Schools in the Country. I am VERY PROUD to be a Da Vinci parent!!!

this school gets over 500 applicaions a year but only selects 65-85 students. Grades are not the only criteria to get in . The school gives an education in values and morals and has one of the most creative teachings around, i am proud that my child will be a graduate this year 2010. so to the great teachers i say thank you you all are awesome .

Da Vinci is really amazing. I am now a Sophomore and I am dying to go back to school! We are all so close; we're family. We all build strong relationships with the teachers and the teachers care about us. I am so glad that I left private school for Leonardo daVinci. I strongly recommend sending your child here! It's safe, and you can't even tell it's a public school. :)

Davinci is a great place! were not just all friends, were family. the teachers there, are not out teachers, there our friends. we love everyone there, even if they are new to the school. yea theres the 1-2 we dont like, but you know what. we deal with it as a group. we all stand together as a team. the school might be small, but it really opens our eyes, and we make the best of it. we all get along, and we all learn to live a good life with everyone we meat. it teaches us the way to be mature while having fun, it proves to us that no color or race matter in life. It makes us wonder why everyhting happens for a reason, yea we have drama and alot of it. but as a team and a family we help each other threw. we love davinci..

I am a current student at Leonardo da Vinci. The building is extremely small, however the environment is amazing. Teachers have some issues, however, everyone is different. The faculty tries their best to give you an education, and they do it well. So well, test grades are abnormally high. This school was listed as a bronze winner in the Nationwide top schools. This included over 60% of the schools in the U.S. The corriculum is very prestigeous and advanced. You must have nearly 4 years of all courses, with given college courses at D'Youville college if your scores are high enough. Great overall school!

I might only be a freshman at Da Vinci, but i've already met the most amazing people i could ever meet. Da vinci may have a tiny building, but it in one way or the other makes all of us closer, more than just in our cramped hallways. The teachers are great. We all have our moments, but all together, Da Vinci definitely was great for me as my first choice high school.

During my time in da Vinci the main complaint I had besides the small building was the lack of extracurricular activities for boys. Because of the small amount of males in the school there were little to no male sports available.

I'm currently a student at Leonardo DaVinci High School and I have to say that it is one of the best schools that I've ever attended. I'm going into my Sophmore year and I cant wait to spend the next 3 years at DaVinci. You make great friends there and you have great teachers! So I definitly recommend attending DaVinci!

I graduated about one month ago (Class of 2007), and I can honestly say that I went to an amazing school! Maybe our principal is a bit strict, and maybe we don't have the best sport teams, etc., but I wouldn't trade my high school experience for the world. The college courses taken through D'youville College come in handy too. I am entering college as a second semester freshman with 12 credits. The teachers are AMAZING. They are always there to lend a hand whenever you need them, and they really care about you. I will really miss and cherish the 4 amazing years that I spent at da Vinci.

I had the privilege of subbing at DaVinci. The students, faculty, and staff are second to none. True, the extracurricular activities lack, no thanks to the lask of funding from the school board. Despite this, the teachers (and students!) seem to do as much as they can to improve the situation. I have been in teaching situations where the school parking lot is empty by 2:35. Not at DaVinci. I wish more parents and students knew how many dedicated people work At Da Vinci. The faculty and staff truly are doing their best to provide their students with an educational experience to remember. Some feel that the principal is too tough. She's strict, but supportive to all who come to her desk. I can't even begin to tell you how much I learned from her. I believe she is an unsung hero of the Buffalo Public Schools, as is Da Vinci.

I am a current student of Da Vinci HS and to tell you the truth at first I dint like it because I thought it was boring but now that I am a junior I love my school and couldn't have picked a better one. we don't have many extracurricular activities, but programs such as college course really helps in the long run. The teachers at Da Vinci really wants us all to succeed in life. They really push us to take that extra step to become someone. The students are great. Mostly all of us get along, and I don't know how my life would be today if I hadn't met the people that I've met.Yeah we're a small school but we're a loving and safe school I really recommend Leonardo Da Vinci

My son is a sophmore at daVinci. I think the faculty is hard working, but the communication piece is missing. The teachers do not have email access and as a woking parent, I find it hard to communicate my concerns and get the feedback I need. The band program is fading fast, although Mr. P is terrific. I believe the conncetion to the college has great potential and is under utilized.

Excellent School! The parent-teacher involvement is second to none. After school programs give students the teamwork and dedication that they will need in the working environment. I believe that this is the best in the city. Small classes with attentive teachers for help. Great!

I am part of Davinci's class of 2000, and I have to be really honest. When I first attended the school, I did not really like it. When I graduated, I actually see the benefits of going there. This school actually does prep you for college. As far as taking math for 4 years, It will help you in college a whole lot. You should all take the Math A and Math B because then you wont have to take that much math when you are in classes. Doing this will give you more time to concentrate on other classes. Davinci is great, too bad Mr. Russo isn't there.

As a former student of this school, With it being based on a college campus, it is a great resource to prepare you to get ready for college. The teachers were always very accomodating, willing to take the time with you and stay after if need be.

As the parent of 2 DaVinci students I am very happy with the quality of eduational instruction my children are receiving at the school. The principal is generally responsive to any complaints. The extracurriculars are limited due to budget constraints. My worry is that the school board is not as supportive of the program as it should be. And the administration of the district is patronizing and dismissive of parent concerns.
