Listening to your iPod during school is no big deal at all. When you're taking a test it helps block out other noises and distractions. It's wonderful that we're able to listen. It helps me concentrate.
I think my school is very amazing. Some kids can't concentrate with out listening to their iPods. One of my good friends can't even take a test with out listening to his iPod. Most kids just use them in their study halls or when they are finished with their work. Our music department is so fantastic and you would think all of the parents would encourage their kids to listen to music. But apparently not....
The academics are fine, but God forbid you approach the administration with any concerns. You are totally wasting your breath, from the Superintendent on down no one cares what you think if you're a lowly parent.
This school is a new building that is bright and clean. I have found the teachers to be excellent, with a few exceptions that you would find in any school. They have a lot of advanced placement classes for such a small school and the music department is fantastic. I have read the other reviews here and I think a solution could be to make sure the kids don't leave home with their ipods!
Canajoharie High School, although the building is nice, the system is poor. the students are unmonitored, and get away with stuff ( like the ipods), that is not good for a learning environment.
This school is very clean and is a friendly environment. However, I do not like the fact the students are allowed to listen to their ipods or music during study hall. Aren't they supposed to be studying in school and listening to music on free time?
