This High School provides the sports, education and challenging academic programs that creates a rich environment for a kids to succeed.
My son went to Selden Middle School and had an outrageous learning experience there. The principal and teachers are people that care about the students in every way. They teach and care about the whole student, physically, emotionally and educationally. One of my son's favorite class was band. Thanks to band he excelled in all his other subjects knowing he had to keep up his marks to keep the honor to stay in band. He graduated from Selden first chair in the clarinet section, and all his other marks were all honor roll. Because of his experience in Selden, he went on to graduate High School and onto college. I think that Selden Middle School should definitely be considered to win the America's School Spirit Challenge.
I was very impressed with the philosophy of the school's Principal. Thew guidance counselors are tops and the teachers are very cring and involve the parents
Great School, Great teachers, and just about any and every kind of program and/or activity that your child would wish to participate in is offered. From all areas of the arts and music to sports to academic programs. School spirit and events to promote it are provided regularly. However, the children whom truly need the most severe discipline, seem to face the least consequences for their actions.
Good school. Excellent extra school activities and PTA leadership. More competitive activities to develop and praise students with high potential would be introduced.
I really like the way discipline is encouraged in this school, however I would like more to be expected of the children academically. More attention seems to be placed on those who either do really well, or really poorly. Those average students get kind of lost in the middle.
