I could not agree more with the review about "Cliques". We decided to commute out of town so that our children could have a smaller school with a lower student to teacher ratio. I am so so very disappointed in the teachers that my children have had so far. The principal is beyond GREAT. I just wish I could say the same about the teachers. Instead of focusing on children who might need the help or praise, they focus it on the children who's families they know! I wish the teachers could show as much passion for teaching and helping children as the principal does. It is a shame.
this is a great school for young kids to learn and grow into wonderful adults,my daughter went to this school and learned so much not just the basics of school but how to love your fellow classmates and teachers, the communtiy involvement is outstanding.a-1 school
This school is plagued by exceedingly cliquey parents and teachers. If you are friends with or are related to the teachers, your child will shine. If you are moving here and don't know anyone, your child will be treated like second-class citizen and stuffed in a corner. The current principal is the only good thing about Cape Elementary. Deny it all you want, but the 'core families' drive all new families away from what should be a great small-town experience.
I am appalled that you have a negative review posted for this school. I am therefore compelled to counter that posting. It has excellent student test results and a caring staff. It's small size affords the opportunity for each and every child to be heard and nutured. By the way, the current Principal is GREAT!!
I found the school itself acceptable, but the current principle is not very good.
