Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I have had 3 of my children that have gone to Karigon and my youngest is still going there. The level of instruction, professional staff and activities have been outstanding. The teachers always try to put my child in a class with a teacher that meets their needs. That level of selection has really helped my children not only enjoy going to school but to actually learn. As a parent I have always felt welcome in the school but not compromising safety of the children.

This is an excellent school. I am a parent of a child who has special needs. This school provides him with a wonderful team of teachers, therapists, and counselors who generally care about helping him succeed.

Karigon is a wonderful school because unlike the rest of American schools, my child is a name, not a number and gets such individualized attention from so many teachers....it's amazing

I have been very disappointed in Karigon. I have had two children go through six years each there. I find the physical characteristics cold and unwelcoming. The principal does a poor job of communicating with parents. There is no real sense of community at this school

This is our first year at Kar igon and while I have been impressed by the PTA and many of the teachers at the school especially in the lower grades. It seems that the older grades are geared to teaching towards the state test. I have seen no cooperative learning taking place in my older sons class and he is bored with just doing worksheets from the textbooks. I wish the school could find a balance between covering the material needed for the test and challenging children in the classroom who need it.

This is our 2nd year at Karigon Elementary. I have a son in 2nd grade and one in 4th grade. The school provides above average academic programs. I haven't experience either, but I know there is a resource room for children needing extra help with reading or math, and I have observed a small enrichment group for 2nd graders as well. 4th graders may test for a Young Scholars program which they may continue with in 5th grade as well. All of my sons teachers have been very communicative and most of all my boys have liked them and liked going to school. There is a good variety of extracurricular activities both during school and organized by our PTA. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom in kindergarten and 1st grades, but not to much after that with the exception of field trips. Overall, we are all happy!
