We have been extremely pleased with the dedication of the Lakewood teachers and staff. All the teachers have been hard working and responsive to any issues we've had throughout my son's 5 years here.

Teachers ride on the backs of the high performing students for the state scores and do little to inspire them.

I am very happy with my daughters' educations at Lakewood. They have a well rounded program including music, art, computer lab and twice weekly physical education. I am considering moving and am very concerned about finding another school equal to Lakewood.

The school is excellent. Academically, the programs are enriching and stimulating. Caring teachers and PTA is an important part of the school. There is an afterschool enrichment program that has classes from spanish to chess to acting. Morning progams and afterschool programs for those parents who work. Many fundraising events and programs. Family environment. Safety is number one.

In 2012-2013 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
