A decline in faculty quality over the years has led to this once great school's decline. The administration appears to lack the strength to guide an uninterested staff.

Great sports, and music programs. Weak on literary extracurtricular activities. The teachers here are in love with these kids and believe in them all.My two kids, only ran into 2 lousy teachers. The rest were excellent.

There are not many extracurricular activities for children who are not athletic. Parents' concerns are oftentimes dismissed. The only positive I've seen so far is that there are many caring, supportive, empathetic (but frustrated) teachers, who with a some more experience, have possibly great potential.

The teachers and staff show favortism towards students who have wealthy families. The academic programs are good, but could be better. I have also found there to be alot of bullying in the middle/high school.

Academic programs are very basic in elementary school. Advance classes taught by volunteer parents. Teaching seems to be geared to state tests. Teachers are friendly but some need to be motivated and support staff need more training.

I have had three children in the district over the last five years (elementary, middle and high school.)I found the teachers and administration to be very professional and caring. However, if you are new to the district beware of the sports and scholarship programs Overall, I believe my children received sufficient preparation for college and other more challenging school districts. School spirit is excellent, the kids well behaved and the environment is a safe and healthy one. Additionally, Cooperstown is probably the best school district in a 100 mile radius - you get what you pay for. (taxes & real estate prices)

Both of my kids graduated from this school. I found the teachers played favorites with the doctor's kids and gave these kids the breaks. In view of this I feel that it was a good thing because it has pushed my kids to go out and be extremely successful. The math department is terrible. Most of the kids have to get outside tutors. Taxes are high for what you consider. If you have to work in the Cooperstown area consider living in another town.
