My two kids attended ASA for one year while we were on temporay assignment in Corning. Upon return to the catholic school that they had previoulsy attended, it turned out that they had both fallen behind their peers, despite receving exellent grades at ASA. They both had holes in their eduction, it seems certain subjet matters that should have been taught simply hadn't been. Both children spent part of the year after we returned catching up. In my opinion, ASA does not measure up the to the high academic standards I expect from a catholic school.
Because of such a dedicated staff that provides my children with a quality education and because of the moral standards that my children have also learned there.
All Saints Academy is a faith-based school open to ALL students Pre-K through 8. My 4 daughters have all attended here. My 26 and 23 year olds still have friends from this school and use their experiences. Currently I have an 8th and 2nd grader who love the diversity of academics and the extra clubs available. Both are in different drama clubs, one plays in CYO basketball, the other is in scouts and Chinese Club. The 8th Grader volunteers in 1st Grade classroom once a week. The atmosphere is that of a family. There is always someone there when you need help or someone to laugh with.
The All Saints' staff really pays attention to details, from each child's learning style, to the quality of the cafeteria food! They stretch every dollar to the max; don't be surprised to see the principal working alongside parent-volunteers to spruce up the playground, or help inflate balloons for one of the special events they host throughout the year. The faith-based education is integrated throughout the curriculum, so it's not at all overwhelming. (When I went to Catholic grade school, we went to Mass at least once a week; at All Saints, they attend Mass maybe once a month.) The small class sizes are great for our kids. We also like the formal way that the older students interact with the younger kids on occasion; it's one nice advantage of having pre-K through 8th grade in one building. The tuition is very reasonable for the high-value of education at All Saints.
My child attended All Saints Academy from Pre-school through grade 8, and is currently studying at a top-notch college she has said that 'All Saints prepared me for the real-world, it taught me spiritual, moral and emotional values.' Over my child's education at this Roman-Catholic school, there was a high level of parent involvement, and a high standard for all activities including sports, education, music, and such. The academics my daughter received were excellent, at any point in time if she wasn't working to the best of her potential the teachers who are very caring people would let my husband and I know. Overall, I believe All Saints Academy is a fantastic school and I reccomend it to everyone looking for an excellent education in the Corning area!
