School does extremely well on Regents and State scores. Check out US News Report. Second year in a row won the Bronze medal as top school.
I enjoy being in a smaller school, you know everyone. Downsville has a great school. The teachers do a great job. I have learned a lot in the past 12 years. And I am glad to be graduating from Downsville. Its Great.
I love working with the 2, 3, and 4 year old students in our school. They are always so eager to learn new lessons and are a joy to be around!! Downsville is a great place to also raise your children, it is a small community filled with BIG hearts.
I attended DCS; the school is well-funded and the teachers run the gamut from excellent to careless. Principal can rub people the wrong way, but he's a decent guy. Limited variety of sports, but the teams are excellent. Band and art programs are strong. Generally a good community for raising a family.
It's not a terrible school. But they need to learn to discipline all kids equally, and yes this does include the ever so popular Boys Varsity Basketball team. They shouldn't get any special treatment.
