I am a parent of a 6th grader who is presently attending the Louis Armstrong middle school. I am extremely satisfied with the Principal's leadership, teachers and parent involvement in the school. Most importantly I am delighted with the education. I have seen my daughter grow socially, emotinally and in her studies. The teachers truly care for their students and they help them progress throughout the year. I had my daughter in private school through out grade school and she never received the attention she is presently receiving from the teachers in the Louis Armstrong Middle School. I can actually say that my daughter and I "LOVE THIS SCHOOL".

I am a graduate of I.S.227 and my 4 yrs at this school were very good. I hope that the new kids attending will have the same experiences that I had and I hope that they will learn from the wonderful teachers at L.A.M.S. Graduate of 2010

LAMS is a great school. My son has just completed 6th grade and being here made the transition from elementary to middle school a fun experience. He made many friends and his teachers really care about his success. There is no comparison between LAMS and his zoned school. I am very happy and consider us very fortunate to have him attending this school.

It's a great school, with a program that encourage learning hands-on, my kid loves it , and he had learn a lot. The teachers are great, very involved in their pupils academics and personal development.Security is also great, my kid feels very safe in the school, and that's peace of mind that reflects onto the academic results.

LAMS is a great learning environment that helps students to thrive thanks to a combination of a caring and insightful teaching staff combined with a wide range of programs and extracurricular activities that encourage kids to learn outside of the classroom. LAMS truly gives their students a chance to lead and succeed.

My son is quite happy at the school but there are times when the teachers can raise the bar and have a higher expectation of the students. Academically it could be more challenging, especially the science program which seems to repeat itself. It has a different feel to a local community school because it is a big school but the administration seems to handle the number of students quite well. It is a very diverse school and most of the teachers are responsive to parents' and students' requirements. The school initiates different after school programs which a bonus and allows students to explore other non academic programs.

Both of my daughters have gone from 5th through 8th grades at LAMS. They have had great teachers, a great guidance counselor and a great Principal. The Parent Coordinator is the best! She keeps us updated on any and all information. My children were happy there and that is important!!!

Its A Multi-Cultural Place-Just Like Home. My Daughter has been a student since 2007 and is ready to graduate. I will miss the staff, teachers and security guards for they are the reason i was able to trust them with my most prized possession.

My daughters and I have absolutely no complains about IS227. It has been a great opportunity and experience for both of them. They learned a great deal and their teachers were great because they made sure that their students work hard to earn their grades.
