I can't understand why this school gets 5 stars for safety and discipline. There are too many kids and the teachers can't control them. This school is too big and it really is a shame. I found the education to be average at best. The adminstrators are unresponsive and don't really deal with serious matters going on in the school.

I really felt good about my children being in Setauket Elementary. It had strong ties to both the future and the past. Just a wonderful place for the arts, music and science.

I'm moving to Port Jefferson. The school keeps parents away out. I've had a really hard time communicating anything. No phone calls back. Called twice no call back. Called vice-principal twice for something else. Between my husband and I there have been at least 12 phone calls unreturned. Oh yeah the very few extracurricular activities get filled up immediately. You have to go very early and wait for at least an hour. If you like to be involed with your child's school this is not the school to attend

School is exceptional if you have a child withn special needs or is gifted. Yet if your child sits in the middle and needs ome help you have to fight for it. The teachers are usually willing to give extra help.
