and to stick up for those who are being bullied. There are also events and fun things that take place such as: -spirit day spirit day is when student's wear the schools colors [green and white], to show their pride in their school -a pep rally a pep rally takes place in school, usually on a friday, and student's come on stage to show their special talents..whether it be singing, dancing or whatever..and there is alot of screaming and laughing with peers....it's a bunch of FUN!! -plays/musicals there are plays/musicals that take place, and student's can apply for a part by auditioning with the play/musical director, fun, fun, fun! -dances there are dances that take place on FRIDAY'S only, student's can go and eat, get soda or something to drink, dance with friends, play games, or just hangout for fun. Broadway has ALOT of things that go on to make it on the list of great schools!!

If you are considering moving into the Elmira City school district-don't!! The administrators in this particular school are unable to deal with issues such as behavior problems and hold students accountable. There are some excellent teachers there, but just as many who are there simply to pick up a paycheck. Parent involvement is low, but this is probably because the staff doesn't really seem to want their input. On the positive side, there are many extracurricular activities available. Another plus is that the current principal resigned.

Poor parent involvment. Core group of parents very involved. New modified sports program for 2006 school year. Extreme lack of consistant disapline with students. Core group of hard working teachers. Music department produces excellent programs. Administration lacking. Focus is on students in need so that advanced program options are cut. Strong Administrative leadership would greatly improve the schools overall appeal.

There is not enough of parent involement when I see, and visit the school I had noticed alot of bullies in the hall ways when students are passing for classes, and after school. I feel this should be monitured because this does affect a childs education when they are affraid to go to school every day. They need to know, and trust someone to talk to about this on going problem at this school.
