Hendy Avenue School

I have two children in Hendy; one going into 4th and the younger in 1st. I can not possibly express the joy I have as a parent knowing my children are so well cared for during the school day. the teachers (for the most part) truely care about the children, their safety, education and over all well being! The principal and vice principle are wonderful and VERY approachable! The extra curicular activities are wonderful and the support from the PFO is outstanding! They are making many efforst to constantly improve/update the school like starting a recycling program (beginning phases). Hendy ranks very high in testing as well! They work with the no child left behind and though sometimes the above average children are slowed down there are programs in which they can get involved in at different times during the year. However those programs are only available to 3grade +

My children didn't like school before they came to Hendy. The teachers have done an excellent job of teaching my children in a way that makes them love going to school. The teachers go out of their way to make both the children and parents feel welcome in the school.

I have two childeren in Hendy School, Pre-K and K. The excitement of the teachers and the one on one that they give has been a great start for my childeren. My son in K is reading, working with math, art, music are all part of the activities. We could not be happier with this school and District. The Superintendent Dr. Bryant is new this year and really is making great changes we look forward to having him watch over the distric as my childern progress through the school.

Our son has attened Hendy since the pre-school and he is now in first grade. The school is wonderful and the staff couldn't be any better. They truly want what is best for your child/children. Our son had a little difficulty with reading and they have been so helpful with getting him extra help. I started as a room mom there and loved it so much I went on to be an aide there at Hendy. I no longer work there because we have had another child but I am not worried about sending her their either. Very good school all the way around.
