The teachers are kind and patient and experienced. They take the time to ensure that their students are learning. They are also led by a phenominal Principal affectionately call Mr. A. He has done WONDERS with the school. I am so proud that both my children attended Dutch Broadway Elementary School.

I am very pleased with Dutch Broadway School. I feel very fortunate to have my daughter in Mrs. Wilson's 1st Grade Class. She is such an inspiring teacher and strides to bring out the best in every student in her class.

This school needs improvement. The Principal - Mr. Aksionoff does stand in the hallway and welcome every child in the morning. The school is very well maintained and the teachers and parents have an open line of communication. However, the school is not performing well in the ELA standardized state test. In that area it seems to be one of the lowest performing schools in the elmont school district. While researching other schools it has also come to my attention, Dutch Broadway doesn't offer as many programs during the school day (compared to Stewart Manor or John Street in Franklin Square ). Unfortunately it doesn't seem as if Mr. A takes parent concerns very seriously. By speaking with other parents in the school, I have found he is handling most situations that arise in the school the same way. He will listen but nothing will get done. Hopefully something will change.

My daughter has been in Dutch Broadway School since Kindergarden and I have been inpressed from day 1. The teachers are very caring and involve in all aspects of the kids life. The Principal - MR. A is very involved and suprisingly seems to know all his students by name. Each morning you can find him in the hallway greating teachers, kids and parents. There is a good show of respect for the teachers/kids in the school because of the tone set at the top by Mr. A and his staff. Great job Mr. A and all Staff. Ms. Lambert the Assistant Principal is involve in all activities at the school. You can always find her at anytime assisting the PTA. Great Job. My daughter raves daily about the school and the teachers and I like the disciplinary actions that are usually taken to ensure a safe environment for all. SL

Great school but there are a lot of changes in the community. I urge the Principal Mr. A. and parents alike not to let the outside influence get into the school to corrupt it. We as parents are getting involved and watching as well.

My fourth grade son has been at this school since kindargaten. He has excelled at all his courses and he has had some wonderful and very skilled teachers. The principal, Mr. A is great at motivating the kids. My only complaint is that I wish there was more emphasis on the arts such as music and drama and there appears to be a constant increase in the number of students that attend this school, I worry about the long term effect it will have on the quality of the school.
