I am truly going to miss this school when we have to move. I am very impressed with the teachers, staff, and service that my children receive from Evans Mills. It feels like a small community where the teachers know and care about everyone of their students.

We just left this school district and they will be missed. The staff was extrememly courteous and caring. My son's first grade teacher was fantastic and really seemed to care about his progress. His congintive level flourished under her guidance.

The staff and teachers are very helpful and supportive to both parents and students. They identified a problem with one of my children and implemented a program that helped her succeed over the past few years. I now have another child attending and they have done an excellent job at expanding her upper level skills yet still helping her flourish within her age group. We have given up two chances to move locally but declined in order to keep our children in the Evans Mills school district.

I am glad to hear this school has such great ratings (which means it has improved since I had children here) When my son was at this school he needed help with speech and we where told there was no room in the Special Education teachers sch to help him and they would let us know when there was space for him - it never happened. We moved to D20 in Colorado and before his first day of school they had set up help in a speech class for him.

Evans Mills Primary is one of the finest establishments I have even been a part of. The faculty is wonderful and friendly. The teachers are fabulous! I have since moved to VA and I am so disappointed of the schools down here.

My daughter is a kindergartner at this school. There is not one day that she doesn't come home filled with fun stories of the different activities she gets to do with her class. She is even learning to read. This school has taught my daughter so much this year. I am so great full to all her teachers, they are doing such a great job!

I think this is a great school. My daughter went from K-3 at there and I had very few complaints. I loved the teachers and the building is in great condition and still improving. Communication with the teachers and staff has been really good. Military families should have no worries if your children will be attending this school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in science. The results for English language arts and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles and the science results will be added when they are released in the Fall of 2013. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
