This school needs to improve their special education program with teacher who are dedicated to the needs of a special needs child instead of their own needs. I would not recommend this school not even to my worst enemy who has a special needs child..
If only people knew what s really going on here and how certain people on the staff are singled out by a certain AP who has a lot of issues himself. Why is he still here when its so obvious
This school need Good teachers, teachers who need a job,not hang outs . Good leadership quality principal , who observed the teachers intellectual abilities and team teaching approach. The front entrance needs steam cleaning too. The children project's need to be advertise more the school.
It is.an excellent school with great staff. I had one child pass through who is now attending a specialized high school and graduate with honors and 2nd child in ap class..the schol is perfect for all 3 of my children..it right by the sea and the play groumd park is great for the kids..I hope my excellent review for this school..
This school has exceptional teachers, and an excellent art, music and drama department. The princapal Mr. Fairweather is professional and is doing a great job creating a secure school with an amazing staff.
My school is full of teachers who care about their students. There are so many people who want my child to succeed that I can't possibly list them all!!!
Best. School. Ever. The teachers are caring and helpful. We really want to see PS 43 shine!
Always drama going on with the people in charge. They should refocus on the meaningful issues and act with\ some honesty amongst themselves.
My 5th grader has been attending PS 43 since kindergarten & I have to disagree with the post regarding lack communication with admin. I have always been able to contact & receive return calls from admin, from the teachers to the AP (I understand not speaking to Mr. Q. He's a busy man). The teachers are caring, attentive, and very involved. Organzation can be improved. My issue lies with some of the children that attend the school. They come to school frustrated & angry, which makes the school environment distracting for others and at times unsafe. If the school should do anything, it should be more agressive with helping these children to channel their emotions, so that the environment can be condusive for all. Unfortunately, parents need to be more involved in this endeavor for it to be successful.
One of the best public schools in the city. I love the fact that this school provides arts for the students. Principal-Mr.Q and Ms Holmes are doing a great job thus far. Parents need to be more involved in they' childrens lives and not just send them to school in name brand. Children need attention and taught morals and values!!!!!!!!!
There is no organization in this school. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing , so to speak. It is impossible to get in touch with the pricipal and asst principal for that matter. Administration doesn't return phone calls until they have a problem with your child. they doesnt even want to set up meetings to resolve things they just rather throw your child to the wolfs
I have been involved with this school since it first opened! My sister was part of the first graduating class and now my children are going there! The school is really trying its best to get things right and to overcome any obstacle they may meet. I thank Mr. Q for being wonderful, caring and stern at the same time! P.S. 43 is the best and the parents need to come out more so that they can know that!
Administration is more worried about the teachers than the students.
I was once a student attending P.S.43.The teachers and students are wonderful.I appreciate that they have new and updated books and we use them to our advantage.
My daughter is in the dual language program, and I am happy that she is attending. As a parent I work hard along with my daughter so she can get the best out of what she is learning. Her teachers have worked hard to help her. I speak for myself, and I commend both the principal and the teachers in the dual language program for their hard work. I also attend the Math Club with my daughter, and have found this very beneficial. I commend the principal and teachers for trying to have these programs in place. It is hard sometimes for me to attend many of the things the PTA puts in place, and the programs the principal has in place as a working parent. I do appreciate their efforts. Thank you all for at least making the effort.
This school is way to big and unorganized. If it wasn't the zoned school for my children, they would not be going there.
