My son is attending kindergarten here & he loves it. He tells me how happy he is to go to JLC & how the teachers and other students are so nice. It's great to see him come out of school smiling!
My son is in 5th grade and my daughter is in 2nd. I think it is wonderful. The kids are learning alot. The more advance students have the ability to goto special classes (PROBE). The teachers and administration listen and my kids haven't had a bad teacher yet! They have afterschool for parents who work. The only thing is they still don't have full day Kindergarden. Which is a problem. I'm paying for full day Kindergarden. I think it will be mandatory in NYS by 2010-11.
I really love JLCS and so does my son. This is our 4th year there. They have great programs, teachers and activities. The school has been around for a long time, but they keep up-to-date on the education. The principal is great. She makes it her business to learn all of the students names. The PTA is very involved. More parents should be involved. It's always the same faces. The afterschool program is excellent! Floral Park is a great place to live and JLCS is a great place to go to school!
This school is supportive to both the children and the paretns. They porvide excellent educational opportunities for our children. The faculty is outstanding. I continue to be impressed every year that goes by.
I spent eight years in JLCS and recently took a sentimental tour. Everything that I learned and still remember was learned there. It was ahead of its time when I attended and I was thrilled to see it is still one of the best schools out there, the teachers were gifted, and dedicated. Discipline was the order of the day and I'll never forget the wardrobe room. We could find costumes to fit any period of time for our plays. We sang under Mr. Fyfe and had musical concerts at least four times a year. Let me not forget the lunch menu. It read like a restaurant menu. Real mashed potatoes, meatloaf, soup and sandwiches etc. No cardboard pizza in that school. The happiest and most fruitful years of my youth were spent learning in that fine old building. Many thanks for years well spent.
