My children started at PS 201 in September. While parent involvement is low, the parents who I've met are great people. We had parent teacher conferences recently. I met all 3 of my kids teachers. While they are SO different, they all have great strengths. They teach SO differently but my kids are happy, eager to learn and love school. This Sept started mandatory uniform dress. Light blue polos, navy bottoms. There is a new principal this year. She is a strong leader and an asset. The school encourages parent involvement and allows parents school access and inves parents to join in LOTS of activities. Many parents are single parents, or working-working parents which makes involvement harder.

PS 201 is a community school in every sense of the word. Teachers care, students work hard and new programs are popping up every week for kids!

PS 201 is a wonderful school. The curriculum is great. Their new magnet program has helped my child succeed. Principal is very caring man and the teachers are hard working!

I recently enrolled my child at PS 201. The school is wonderful. It has a new library with loads of books. The school is a magnet school now. The best decision I made was to move my child to this school

I have to say I am very please with the education that my children get at PS 201. The school has come a long way. The administration is caring, loves children and is very nice. Teachers work hard. The school has cracked down on behavior and that is good. Students should be held accountable for their behavior. A great school.

I am so happy with PS 201. My daughter is in 3rd grade. She brings home great projects and always a lot of homework. The school has totally turned around. Teachers are great.

My son currently goes to this school and he is the 4th grade. I transfered him here from PS 20 and I miss PS 20 so badly. His teacher really doesn't care about the kids, she use to call me all the time about everthing now she has stop. Makes me thinks that she has given up on my son. He does need help that I don't disagree with, but don't ever give up on a child. The school principal is new and I think he cares, but he is too new to the system. I don't blame him totally, but the Board of Ed needs to hired expreince people. The staff, let's see, doesn't seem to know the difference from their brain and feet. They don't seem to communicate with each other. No one really knows what's going on.

This school is a fantastic school. We moved to another state and unfortunately my children cannot attend anymore. We all miss it. The school has a bad rep because of scores but they work very with the students my son had problems reading and writing. The school staff teamed up and gave him the best support. I think the parents have to work a little harder. You can not expect your child to have great grades if you leave it only up to the teachers. The teacher go above and beyond to assure our children are learning the parents need to continue at home. My daughter was an A student in that school from the begining k-6th My son had trouble in the begining and thanks to the teachers and staff especiallt Ms. markowitz the Occupational therapist his last year my sone scored a 4 on the city wide

This is an excellent school! The teachers and parents/community are great. The school offers tons of afterschool programs and has a lot of services to support the students. I am glad that I can send my child to a public school and not have to worry about him getting a great education.

This is a home like, runned school. Everyone works like a family. The teachers and staff really care for their students.The Principal Ms.Veronica Yuick, is a wonderful person with great charecter. About the tests


In 2012-2013 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, Earth science and physics. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate.
