Fredonia used to be the school of all schools for this area. It used to have a great reputation and was a leader in all areas. The teachers are fantastic and are very driven, motivated, caring and wonderful. With the newer administration in place, this school has taken a decline. They closed the primary school causing crowding in the building. Moved 5th graders to the middle school with no alternating times so they are navigating the hallways with the 8th graders (too much of an age and maturity difference for all of that). Teachers have large class sizes and no aides to help and students get less and less assistance in the classroom because of it. The administration is completely out of touch with the necessities of the classrooms, students and parents. The school doesn't have that warm welcoming feeling that it once had. The Admin is out of touch with the teacher's, parent's and student's needs and it shows in the overall feeling of the school. What once was a hub of activity and excitement is now a bunch of hallways w/closed doors. Again, the teachers are wonderful and always have the best interest of the students in mind. There just isn't any support for them.

The academic programs, particularly the math and reading programs, are outstanding, with opportunities for students of all academic abilities. The PTA is very strong, forming a productive collaboration between parent and staff.

I think that Fredonia offers a large variety of academic services to their students. The town also offers a great amount of extracurricular activities to the younger children in the school.
