Moved here recently and overall gribbin school tries to push the kids academically, however due to majority of immigrants with language barriers a lot of the English literate kids suffer. Minority's are definitely catered too. The remedial math program is discontinued because they put the money in reading, catering to immigrants. The principal, Ms Santoro is always available to talk to however It is to make u feel better with no resolution but her final say.Teachers are puppets to her and children are brought to her for every little thing. No positive encouragement, as "perfect" behavior is expected and shouldn't be rewarded, per her motto. Punishments are drastic for minute things and bigger issues everyone's blinded. Literally 2 extra curricular activities that are boring and meaningless to kids.Screw up and your sent to principal for your sentencing. Aways begging for money or volunteer prof services or skilled trade to improve the school ( hello taxes)So if your child Is a normal kid that does normal 6 yr old things and has a fun spirited personality, this is not the school. Put them on Benadryl so they are zombies and you'll be fine. Good luck our house is up for sale!!!!
This is my second child in Gribbin. I can only say the best. I feel they are safe and that there is a lot of accountability there, contrary to private schools. The teachers are excellent and both teachers and principal are very responsive. Any concern was address promtly and professionally. Incredible nurse.
I have one child in Gribbin now and 2 that have already gone thru. They all had fantastic teachers and excelled academically. Plenty of music and art as for parent involvement, some are more involved than others. Overall excellent.
