I looked for schools for my son when he was starting Kindergarten and came across ps. 113. I read all the reviews online and they reviews were all mostly good. It also happens to be my sons zone school. So I was pleased that he would be attending this school. I have to say that I am truly happy with this school, teachers & staff they really care. They have a wonderful way of teaching and getting the kids on board. My son is now in the 1st grade and has really blossomed, its amazing to see him excel. I hope his experience with his further grade teachers are as a positive experience as the last two years.
So far so good for my first grader!! Looking forward to have my second child come to the school.
I do not have a comparison with other schools since this is my only experience so far with public schools (my child is in first grade). I cannot express enough my gratitude towards Mr.Pranzo and the entire staff at PS/IS113Q. It is a wonderful environment for children, strict but warm and welcoming, as school should be. My child is happy every day before and after school. The parent-teacher/school communication maintained via email is one of the few things that makes this school outstanding. There are workshops and science fairs, book fairs, trips, afterschool programs, dance programs, a Glee club, gatherings for parents and PTA, overall a great family environment for all of us to grow into. Thank you all!
Best school in Queens. Mr P shows fantastic leadership and the teachers all care about the kids. The children are all challenged based on their level. Thanks to all the teachers and staff for providing an excellent education to our children.
Best school in Queens! As a former paraprofessional, I have worked in many schools. This is the one I chose for my children because it is truly the best. Mr. P is amazing! And the school staff is excellent.
P.S.113 is a excellent school, the teachers and the PTA staffs are fantic. My daughter got except to the citywide Gifted & Talent program to the first grade, we won't transfer her out she will continue to attend at this school, she love her teachers and all her classmates.
This school is the best has after school programs and is now goes up to 8th grade. My kids love it my son like his teacher mr.Pepe.It has funny and strict teachers.Best school ever.
Excellent school! Top notch teachers. Top notch principal. Top notch students. Thank you for providing the children of Glendale with such fine school.
I am a proud parent of 2 children that attend PS / IS 113. The teachers are fantastic! My children enjoy going to school every day. The do very well on the state exams and have good grades. I appreciate the constant communication from the Parent Coordinator keeping up to date on school activities. Our PTA also works very hard at fund-raising and giving back to the students.
This school is score oriented, not student oriented. They only practice for the state tests but they didn't augment the knowledge. Also it has almost no after-school activities and if there is, then its chosen by lottery. Plus this school has no recess at all. I believe that every single child should have recess if they dont even have a break between classes. I am very disappointed with this school. I am a former parent.
