This is my second experience with John S Burke HS, My first daughter went there for 4 years in 1996 and now our other daughter has just begun 9th grade...My experience with the school so far has been the same as it was in 1996 FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! the scool is great but only if you are committed to working hard. You will not be able to sleep through your courses. Our oldest daughter was in a class of 100 ALL students went to college my daughter recieved multiple offers from colleges to attend, many offered full scolarships. We know our next child will do the same. After doing the math it was cheaper for us to send our daughter to Burke as that in turn got us the scolarships to her college..

I am a Grad from the late-60's. Back then, mostly Presentation Nuns - Very-click-ish school if you were not a 'townie'. I was told - on many occasions that teachers are not here to teach (!) The School Director did not allow me to go on the Senior trip to D.C., cause my parents were -1- month behind in tuition; that priest later 'ran-off' with a Nun whom I had in 1st, 8th, and my senior year. What does that tell you about integrity.

When my brother graduated a few years ago burke was a great school, but thanks to poor administration and overall poor choices when it comes to hiring/firing the teaching staff, burke has become a waste of money.

Biggest waste of money I've ever had. Sent my son there hoping he'd get into a good college. Not only did his grades slip once he got in there do to bad teachers, but I found out the whole 95% of kids go to college to be nothing more than a lie. They'd always say it to me and they were right, but they failed to mention that 1 third of the students that went to college went to OCC and some weren't equipped to go to college and later failed out and went to OCC. I transferred my son to Don Bosco prep and I'd only give that school 10 stars. For it being excellent when it came to grades and other things. Now when it came to how they handled thing discipline wise. They were the worst school ever.

very poor leadership. academics unimpressive. administration is punitive and not transparent. parents are unwelcome. no pride of school or school spirit.

My oldest son is in the school. It is his first year and so far I am extremely pleased. The teachers and administration keep you informed of all that is happening at the school. It definitely beats my local school which has 3000 students. How much individual attention could you possibly get,

This is my second year at Burke Catholic and i love it. Burke has provided me with so many useful tools that i will need in the future. This is not a school for people that think they can just float through school. This school requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Most of the teachers are very nice and and give full support to the students. Everyone in the Burke community mostly get along. I made new friends the very first day of school. My parents gave me a choice between Burke or a public school and i decided to go to Burke and not once do i regret attending burke. It may be pricey but its worth every penny.

I have 1 daughter who graduated from Burke in 2008 and another in the class of 2010. Both girls loved the school. I have been pleased with the fullness of their education. Students are not just academically prepared, but civically prepared as well. When we chose parochial education for our children 13 years ago, we wanted their studies to be overshadowed by religion in action (grace, prayer, confession, math, do unto others, etc.) It was important to us that our children were reasonably disciplined and learned self-discipline as well. For the most part, Burke teachers supported a 'moral conscience' without judgement. This school was an extention of what we began at home. So often this is lost when we send our children out of our homes to school.

this school is horrible. teachers are too strict and make too many your mom jokes. no one gets into college unless you count occc, but seriously.

I am a Senior, and I absolutly love Burke. I started as a Freshman, with a public school background. Burke has tons of after-school programs, and if you need tutoring, there are other students or teachers available most of the days. It's worth it.
