We moved here a year ago. The teachers are excellent. They do so much fun stuff in Science, Art, Computer...I was very impressed. The class teacher reviews every homework. But I was disappointed that there is no afterschool program at all for 2nd grade and below.
My son has attended Saddle Rock for the past 2 years (first and second). Everyone raves about the school, and he likes it, but I'm not overly impressed. There are hardly any 'extra' programs (no afterschool for K-2) and the school is very test-oriented. There is little communication with the parents, and for the most part parents are not encouraged to participate. There are also few chances to visit the school. On the plus side, class size is exceptionally small (my son has 16 kids in his class this year) and since the school is small he feels very comfortable there.
Saddle rock school is the best school in Great Neck.
this is a great school. my daughter is in the fourth grade and the teachers are very nice and great at their job. They are very dedicated to the students and help is always availabe.
This is an incredible school, and one of the best reasons to live in Great Neck. Saddle Rock is a 'Blue Ribbon' school, which means it is one of the highest ranked schools in the state. Teachers are consistently good.
