Maria Regina High School

Highly disappointed in my daughter's experience. I am glad she is graduating and getting out. The school has many low quality teachers who teach the bulk of the students. The better teachers are allocated to honor classes. The "guidance" counselors themselves need lots of "guidance"......in a word, useless. Social atmosphere is rife with emotional, physical and mental bullying and the school has no idea on how to spot and or deal with it. A very unfortunate experience.....look at other places.

Because of this school, my daughter is not going to the college she desired. Math teachers are horrible. Do not be fooled by their lies at open house. The last geometry class, including my daughter, FAILED their regents test and that was a whole 30 girls as a whole, maybe even more. Now that tells me the teacher is at fault here. The principal and math department did absolutely nothing about it and now they are suffering on the SATs. Focus in only on honors classes and that alone is not sufficient. Guidance counselors do not help in either matter whether it is with a teacher, or the college application process. Basically, your sixteen year old daughter is on her own. For lack of a better word, this school is a joke, unfortunately and the children are paying for it. These girls are very bright and work very hard and it is sad to see that they have the blame put on them, meanwhile the school does not do anything about the students' low grades. If they see that there are at least a few girls exceeding, they are fine with that and i am outraged at their non-nonchalant attitudes. Worst choice sending my child here and i truly do regret it.

MRHS is a great school. It's more then a school, it's a second family and I think that really impacts the way someone looks at school and how someone learns. Some teachers are very good, while others have no idea what they're doing. I don't know how anyone could be failing in MRHS unless they're in a ap/honors class, since the regular classes aren't that hard. I love MRHS and would recommend it to any girl who wants to come to a school where you don't only meet friends, but also sisters.

As a student at Maria Regina I think tht I have grown into a better person. Maria has impacted my life in numerous ways...I have made great friends throughout my four years attending and the family feeling to the school really does make a difference. I have gotten to know each teacher(even the one's I've never had for a class) and I must say they are great people. Yes, I do agree some are crazy and hard graders at some points but they really do try and help. They usually offer after school help and it's not their fault if someone fails to show up. As students, we are supposed make a commitment to work & try hard in school. This school gives people many chances at bettering themselves and also helps to shape both a young girl/woman's mind, morals, and most especially their life.

I attend Maria Regina, and have to admit that most of the teachers have no idea what they are doing, but i dont want to mention any names. However, the closeness of the people who attend is outstanding to say the least. After awhile everyone respects eachother. I am in all the 'honors/AP' classes, and have realized that although im learning some information, i am not learning enough.

I am currently a student at MRHS, and love the close family that we are. But to say the least , many of the teachers are a joke, and this school tries to take every penny that we have.

i am in love with mrhs. everyone is like family. the teachers are so nice and most have extra help classes outside of school.

I am not too impressed with school and how they handle situations with the teachers. I am not impressed with the teachers other then a few. The clubs are a joke. I just have to say I am not too pleased.

As a graduate, and now that my daughter is there, I have realized that going to Maria Regina changed the course of my life. If I didn't have the solid moral foundation they provided me with, I wouldn't have been able to stay with my husband and work through our issues. I would not have been blessed with my 2 beautiful daughters. And now that my daughter is starting MRHS, I can't wait for her to have the great experiences I have had there. Academically, I was an average student, but I was able to get into a good college, go to an Ivy League University for graduate school and keep up with my Ivy League husband!

This school is not a college prep school- there aren't many AP classes.They often encourage their students to apply only to local community colleges. The school IS affective in fostering morals and values to their students. Students do get a strong sense of community and sisterhood.
