The school is great. The only problem is drugs, however the drug problem at Schechter, while prevelant, is not nearly as bad as it is at most other schools- public or private. The academics are wonderful, and the school has a great reputation with colleges. In addition, atheletics are really pushed at Schechter, and so are elective courses, clubs, and an array of other activities. Students come from all over- from Westchester, Orange, and Rockland counties in New York, Bergen County in New Jersey, and Fairfield country (mostly from Stamford and Greenwich) in Connecticut.

Not only is the Solomon Schechter School on the highest level of Hebrew,(the children speak fluently early on), it also has an amazing art and music department. The Director of Music, Jonathan Cahr has CD's available! After school activities like Hip Hop are run by famous teachers. The community is warm and inviting. Academics are much higher than the local public schools.
