Gerald F Neary Elementary School

My two children attended Gerald Neary from 2007-2010. It was an excellent experience. The staff was loving and supportive. The school continuously offered extra curricular activities, field trips, projects and events that created a warm and welcoming environment. Education was always #1. We appreciated our time at Neary and regret the fact that the children in the Village of Haverstraw have to be pushed into West Haverstaw Elementary. There is no comparison.

This school is wonderful. All the staff members are caring and collaborate to ensure that every child's individual needs are met. They also work along with families providing ongoing support to create the best learning circumsatances for all children.

My son attended Gerald Neary several years ago for 1st and 2nd grade. His experience was an excellent one. He had a great teacher named Ms. Shortel which I will always have her in my prayers as well as everyone in the school. They helped my son learn how to read and understand the concept of Math and how to enjoy it in a fun way. Today, my son is 11 yrs old and still talks about his teacher Ms. Shortel and continues to enjoy how to do his homework .

This is a safe, friendly environment for your child with great teachers. The musical and art program are very good. I will recommend the school. They also have a reading program that motivates the kids to read more and explore. Parents need to get more involve in their kids education, this is my only concern.

I do not believe that this is a place that should be considered safe for any child. If you have the opportunity for your child to attend any other school, take it!

Gerald Neary is an excellent school. My three children have attended Neary. Our experience with the teachers was excellent. They truly care about the success of their students and developing a team relationship with parents. The art and music teachers, Mrs. Baumann and Mrs. Marino are awesome. The entire staff is professional. I HIGHLY recommend this school to any parent.

Neary is an excellent school. My daughter has been going there for 3 years now and is learning so much and so well. She's had some wonderful teachers there, and has made many friends. They have lots of great programs available for the kids, and we've taken advantage of several of them.
