I believe this school really needs to adapt better teaching methods based on a childs needs and not on what the school wants for test scores. When the kids dread going to school each day it makes for a bad learning environment.

The academic programs are plentiful although they focus to much on the athletic program. Its not that I do not like the athletics it is just that I think that we need more academic interest. The school is mainly focused on sports. The Teachers are very kind and funny. But sometimes they are a little out of touch. The Extra curricular clubs are also fun to do. The school is about average to me.

The academic programs are amazing. They need a little work on controll and a lot of work on making sure that they are award of everything that does go on in their classrooms. The is a lot of school spirt so, sport are a major plus. I also know that a lot of kids make their whole high school while being based on music, so that program is great. Also i think musical is an amazing after school thing for the kids making sure they are on track and things. The level of parent incolvement i think is low becuase it always seems like the same parents that are involved. Over it is an amazing school.

Hilton High School provides a great learning experience for all students. I have found that as a student you always feel welcome and your education is valued at a high level. Hilton High School is part of the IB program, which extends around the world. Hilton is one of few High Schools in the area to offer this rigorous program to students. Hilton also offers multiple AP courses for students to pursue. The athletics at Hilton are also top notch. In 2005 the girls cross country team placed 1st at Nationals in Portland Oregon, and second in 2006. All other sports at Hilton are very competitive, often bringing back Sectional Titles.

Diversity does NOT exist in this school. The level of education does not prepare students for college. The teachers are out-of date and out-of touch with current research and teaching techniques. Of course, they would actually need to pay the teachers a better salary first if they want to be able to recruit better teachers. Drugs, gangs, and violence are a problem at this school. There is too much emphasis on athletics at this school and not nearly enough on the arts.

I believe that the school system itself needs a little work but over all it is a good school. The teachers (for the most part) know what they are doing and if a student applies him or herself then they will make good grades. My daughter is a senior and has attended Hilton Schools all her life and not once have I had a problem with the way the school has handled something and she is also a model student, High Honor Roll and never gets into trouble. Two thumbs up for Hilton High.

I seem to get nothing but lip service from this school when I question things. They are always free with the statistics when been questioned but offer little else. This school district needs revamp of the LA and special ed.
