Northwood Elementary is the best of the best! I have one child who made a smooth transition to middle school after six exceptional years at Northwood. My youngest is in the 4th grade there and thriving. The Hilton Central School District is heads and shoulders above most others in our area. I would never spend the unnecessary extra dollars to buy a home on the "east side" of Rochester, just because they claim to have the best schools. We love the community here in N. Greece/Hilton/Parma, and Northwood Elementary could not be better!
I am a mother with 2 sons at this school who have attended since they started kindergarten. there are a couple of teachers that may not have been the best, but I wouldn't consider them terrible either. other than that, I love this school and my kids love it too! the communication is great and everyone is very friendly. the principal, vice principal, counselors and occupational therapists are wonderful. I can't say enough good things about our experience at Northwood. compared to other districts in our area, I'm so glad we are in Hilton CSD and my children attend Northwood.
I've been very impressed with the open door policy of principal, vice principal and support staff. Also a very warm and welcoming environment for both new students and parents, with many opportunities for parent involvement. Also fair to say a high level of commitment from teachers that students learn and excell at their own pace. Couldn't be happier!
