This School is nothing but Great. Every Women Sport at Horseheads has excelled throughout the year and a majority of the Men Sports as well. The music program is exceptionally well and have more talent than most high school's could ever dream of. Their play Annie was OUTSTANDING and one of the best play's i have ever seen put on by a high school. Also, Horseheads is the best school academically for students as well. I've attended all three school's and none of the school's in the area compare to Horseheads. Their staff is extremely talented and very well educated. The students there are so friendly and kind and welcome every student there. I would highly reccomend this school to any family looking at schools. If i could transfer back, i would in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, Horseheads is who knows who, what's your lastname, who are your parents, etc. Instead of the coaches taking the time to mold a student into a great athlete, they will choose a student if say their parent is in the school system or if say their sibling plays on a sport. They have been known to cut experienced athletes and replace them with inexperienced athletes...but their brother played...etc. Some of the teachers care about the students, and unfortunately the ones that have favorites are bringing those teachers down. There are more fights in this school and the bullying never ends, talk about clicky.

When it comes to sports, Horseheads is quite often the team to beat. Dedication on both the students' and coaches' parts make for a wonderful sports atmosphere. I once overheard a conversation through which a spectator claimed, 'Horseheads breeds their athletes.' They also breed, then, scholars and musicians as well. A very well-rounded school, though administration has caused quite a fuss among parents.

Horseheads is by far the best school in the area as far as academics and athletics go. However, some of their new policies are a little out there. And the administrators have done some pretty outrageous things. Then when the parents complain, they try to cover it up to save themselves. But although the administration is sketchy, I would not let my child attend any other school in the area. This is the only one where they will get an excellent education.

I love HHS! My experience helped me to really excel in college. Every time I come back to visit I feel welcomed...like I've come home again. My teachers remember me and call me by name, especially Mrs. Schiavone. She helped me to make it through some really hard times and score an awesome grade on the regents exam. Even though I didn't think I could. Thanks to everyone there. You made a difference to me.

The school is very well kept and is full of culture. The staff is qualified and they are strict when it comes to violence. They have great academic and sport programs for all kids.

Im not really a parent, im a former student of Horseheads High School. I think that HHDS is much better than the school i atten now.You have better ways of running the school. I also think that you need to get our old principal Wood back. Academicly HHD is better, they have more choices, they also require more, and thats a good thing because it makes the students work harder. The drop out rate is very low and then school i go to now has a 40% drop out rate every year. I just wanted to let HHD know that if i could go to any school, that i would prabably go to their school.

Horseheads High School is a great school district and definatly one of the best schools in the area. It offers an amazing and caring Sports program as well as an award winning and national championsihp level music program. The academic programs are of no other at HHDS. The teacher involovment is amazing the teachers care about the child not just the test scores that he/she produces. The level of parent involvement is imense for their input is always needed.

I would like to say thank you to the teachers and the principal of Horsehead Senior High School for taking good care of my son Everett J. Knowles last year. We had to go home and live with my parents for a few months and the school was great for Everett and he made new friends, I wish we could have stayed. We are back in New Bern, NC and do well. Thanks you for the help and having my son to acheive his goals with his education. Mrs. Linda Knowles

I graduated from Horseheads High School in 1990 and began to attend King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA the following fall. I graduated high school as an average to slightly below average student (due mostly to my own lack of study skills). To make a long story short, I feel the exceptional level of education provided to me at Horseheads enabled me to excel in college (I graduated Magna Cum Laude in four years). I also noticed other students who had been 'Honors' students in high school struggled with curriculum that I breezed through.
