there is nothing special about this school. I don't think my sons teacher is anything great...she is average, she teaches the curriculum and nothing else. This district is not as good as the HHH district next door where there is creative learning going on....Oh, and the parents don't seem friendly and there are not many playdates....

There are only a couple of oustanding teachers if you are fortunate enough to have your child in their class. The school was recently updated but the same worn out furniture remained for the most part. The new NWEA testing system is highlighting the shortcomings of this school and many others in the district. We had moved to this area based upon the 'great' school district but they appear to be resting on their laurels now. I will say that the Countrywood School they we came from was very well run.

I personally had the opportunity to experience maplwood first hand and would like parents to know that this is an excellent school that holds the support of the community. They are very intune with your children and work very hard to get them the services that they need in order to encourage their success. The music program is wonderful. i would recommend this school to anyone.
