Excellent teachers in a warm, caring community. Lovely location in Irvington-on-Hudson. Looking forward to a change in administration

ICS is an excellent learning environment for my children. The academics are challenging and consistent from grade to grade. The parents and teachers are involved together to educate the children in a Christian environment. There is a strong CYO program, music program, art program and Spanish every year starting in preK. This is a school looking for families that want the best well rounded experience for their children. At ICS my children were taught not only to excel academically, but to excel as good citizens. And they do! What more could I want?

My rating of this school I based on averages. Some teachers at this school I find to be exceptional and other, though teach well, have issues with spending extra time to help kids as they complain about this in meetings that it is an over burden to do this. Don't get me started on the Principal. Honestly, I feel he needs to be removed.

Immaculate Conception School is the place for you. The faculty and staff care greatly for each and every student. We are like one big happy family. We strive to make our students succeed to the best of their individual abilities. We offer a very academic program that encourages higher order thinking, provides challenges and allows students the opportunity to learn and work using a learning style that works best for them. We will do whatever it takes to make every student feel like they belong and that they are one of the reasons our school is the best it can be. Come check us out. You won't be disappointed!

I feel the school does well in teaching academics, but it lacks continuincy as far as the next grade following what the prior grade teacher did. Each teacher does their own thing. The school also lacks other interest for the children. They have a 'gym' room which is more of a multipurpose room, from assembly to lunch, art, music, meetings. Also the students do not receive proper physical ed, its only gym. The school lacks the finances to produce further activities like public schools do. Some classes have too many students where as others have too little for the students to have enough social interaction within their age.

My brother and I attended this school from K thru 8, and now I have the special opprotunity of having my child attend the school over 20 years later!!! It is still a GREAT SCHOOL that CARES for your child. My daughter can almost read and she is in her first year of PRE-K. The new principle has a take charge attitude and will help make the school that much better. If you have questions for a parent at ICS I'd be happy to reply. swillz28@optonline.net

Immaculate Conception School (ICS) is a fabulous school. As an educator specializing in the education of Gifted and Talented students, as well as a mentor/supervisor of new teachers for the NYC Board of Education, I was extremely thorough in my research for a school for my own children. After visiting and researching many many schools in Westchester and NYC, I decided to enroll my children in ICS. ICS offered a well rounded and well balanced curriculum for my children that would provided them with solid instruction in the basics as well the opportunity for creative, exciting and interesting educational experiences. The teachers at ICS truly care about both the child's intellectual and emotional quotient. The children in the school have a fabulous enviroment to learn in at the school. The new principal at the school has brought many new ideas and projects to the school that will only enrich it further.
