PS 2 is a really good school. My son has been going there from kindergarten and he is entering 2nd grade this year. My son's kindergarten and first grade teachers were amazing. It is true they don't go on many trips which I hope will change this year but overall the school is definitely a good one and I am very pleased with my son's education experience so far.

I don't like Ps2Q it is not a good school in many ways. The principal doesn't pay any attention to special ed program there. He doesn't even greet special education parents or children. My son is enrolling the special education program in the school since 2007. The speech service is not good one either. The speech teachers too busy doing everything else but teaching lessons. They only do care about general ed population and don't pay any attention to special ed kids. They forget about the funding they get for special ed children in the school.

I have been involved with P.S. 2 for a very long time. It's a great school with a great family feel. Everyone looks out for one another. The teachers are amazing. They truly care about each child as an individual.

I love PS 2. The staff is excellent. They are super friendly and with a school this big I find it very comforting thst as soon as you walk in the door they staff whoever it msy be knows who you and who your child or children are....And in my case I have 4 and they know each child...by face and name.

This school is overcrowded and inproperly managed. They have cut teachers which are needed. They have a principal, why the need for 2 assistant principals. It just goes to show the principals lack of involvment and inadequacies that he needs 2 individuals for support. Math and reading scores are low, methods of teaching are ineffective and the children pay the price. This is a classis example of how the board of education likes to waste money on an executive level. The teachers and support staff to the school is courteous and genuinely care about the well being of our children. They struggle to do their best to teach and take care of their students with the lack guidance and experience that an effective principal should have.
