My daughter in 2nd grade. She is in this school since first grade. And we were very lucky to had Ms Clark as her first grade Teacher. Ms Clark is a true professional. We miss her. Now she is in 2nd grade with Miss Figura. Which is her another favorite teacher. Very helpful. Feel very comfortable to ask anything. I am very greatful to have great teachers. Thank you!

Wonderful teachers, unprofessional and rude principal and assistant principal. It is a shame that a school with very professional and pleasant teachers should be run by such an unprofessional principal - Martha Vasquez. A lot of the parents I've spoken to have the same complaint - she treats parents in a very unprofessional, rude and crass manner not suitable for an educator. I can only imagine how she treats students.

I GREW UP IN JACKSON HEIGHTS AND I LOVED PS 69. IN 1951, IN FIRST GRADE I HAD KATHERINE TUCHMAN(KITTY) AS MY TEACHER. SHE WAS ALSO A GOOD FRIENS OF MY MOTHER. I LOST TOUCH WITH HER OVER THE YEARS, BUT SHE WAS A WONDERFUL TEACHER. DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HER? I REALIZE THJAT THERE IS A POSSIBIOLITY THAT SHE IS DECEASED, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW SOMETHING OF HER CAREER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH JEFFREY REDD EVANS
I love this school. This school is the best school for my daughter. All her teachers were friendly and taught in a fun way.

I was at P.S.69 last year, and I had a great time. We always learned something new, and the staff was always nice. Especially in fourth grade, we often incorporated games to help us learn, like in Math, we used the game Buzz to help us memorize our multiplication tables. Honestly, I couldn't choose a favorite teacher for my life! But, I do know that I had the greatest time in fifth grade, with Mr. Alper.
P.S.69 has a lot of great students, teachers and parents. Everyone works well together to make sure every student's needs are met.

PS 69 is a place where children can come to feel part of a community of learners who are recognized for their individual abilities.

Staff is hostile to parents asking questions. The lunch period is dominated by unruly students who intimidate smaller children. The administration is indifferent or aloof to suggestions for improvements by parents.
P.S. 69, while once of the best schools in District 30, is now not even satisfactory. While I'm sure some of the teachers are excellent, my daughter is in a class with two teachers who can't tell me anything about her progress. In that same class is young boy who, despite being very bright, is having behavior difficulties because the staff seem indifferent to helping him (he and my daughter are playmates so I feel justified in saying that). It seems that all the special needs students have their needs ignored by the two teachers they have for the majority of their day.

My daughter Dechen is in the first grade now and she is a good above average student but to make her into a better student, her teacher Ms. B ( as they call her) and her kindergarten teacher Ms.Mavrelos got together and helped make a show off folder, which would have all the class work that Dechen completes on time. and Dechen would proudly show it to Ms. Mavrelos. Since Dechen is very fond of her kindergarten teacher and always has a wish to make herself look good infront of Ms. Mavrelos, Ms. B & Ms. Mavrelos used that affection to motivate Dechen to be a much better student. With Ms. Mavrelos, it was not just another kindergarten student she once taught, she likes to keep intouch with her students as they progressed to highter grades. I found that very impressive and am very gratefull. Thank you

P.S.69 is an amazing school! The students there are well educated by there teachers. Security is tight, which is good when you want to be sure that your kids are safe. Lunch may not be delicious, but then again what New York Public School food is? The teachers are the kind that love there jobs and are completely devoted to them. If they need to spend all their time with one student to ensure there education they will. Of course without forgetting the others in the classroom as well. The gym is very large and overall the school is very neat and clean. There are always after school activities to be a part of if wanted and the field trips are both educational and fun. If your planning on sending your kids to a school in Jackson Hts then P.S.69 would be the best choice to make.

Huge school, lots of kids, 6 of each grade i think. Have honors class, band ,dance programs. Lunch quality is low because of large number of kids, i guess. Kindergarden and 1st eats at approx. 10:30 a.m. Offers extra help for kids that need it.Strict uniform policy in effect. have science fairs and book fairs, which i love. Have Rising stars ceremony monthly to reward the top kids in each class.
