Jamaica Day School of St. Demetrious is an awesome school. I registered my 4 year old here for pre-school sept 2009 and now I'm looking for a public school for her in briarwood or jamaica estates area and cannot find 1 that matches up to the standard of JDS. The teachers are very attentive to the kids and the environment is very kid friend and conducive to learning, class sizes are small, school and classes are very organized and clean. looks like the kids get to be envolved in a lot of activities, basketball, halloween party, christmas show, after school programs etc. At the end of the day, if i cannot find a good public school, i may enroll my daughter for kindergarden here. If you have the money about $480 month plus $7 hour for extended hour then this is a nice school for you. Goodluck

Jamaica Day School of Saint Demetrios is an exceptional learning institution. Seven of my eight children have attended this wonderful school. In addition to the small classes, the quality of education received by the students is uncomparable to other schools. JDS has an aura of family unity and humanity that surrounds its inhabitants. Our students excel in city and standardized tests. They get full scholarships to top Catholic High Schools, and also get accepted to schools such as Stuyvesant, Townsend Harris and other top notch Public High Schools. Come and take a vist to JDS!

I enrolled my daughter in the Pre-K program last year. I was so impressed with the quality of education and care that this school gave that I have decided to keep her here.

Terrific!!! My child was failing a couple of classes before attending the school. But because of the small classes my child was able to get the right attention to pass. The teachers are always willing to help and the principle is a strong individual that cares for the students

This is the best private school in Queens. The teachers are excellent and dedicated. Small class sizes enable the utmost individual teacher attention, student camaraderie and school safety. The children get along very well with each other and are happy.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
