This school is average. The principal is stand-offish, removed, and does not encourage parental involvement. The individual teachers that we have experieneced are good to very good with a few excellent ones (all the K teachers are excellent). There is not onsite before or aftercare. The district lines are not logical so that when living half a mile from one elementary you end up being bussed 6 1/2 miles away to another. All after school activities start at the end of class but finish before workdays end so unless you are a stay at home parent they are not possible to participate in. The classroom sizes are too large and the special ed inclusion children do not get enough support in the class so the teacher of the 23 children ends up being pulled into too many directions. The layout of the school and the playgrounds are nice. Generally an OK school but not for the cost of the property taxes in this district.

JES is a fantastic school with so many learning opportunities for children both in and out of the classroom. I am so glad we chose this district, and JES in particular as our school.
