This school has teachers and students whose focus is not limited to the confines of the classroom. The teachers are very active in reaching out to the community with projects that support those less fortunate and better our planet. The teachers and students give of thier free time to beautify the town and school. They foster a true sense of community between the residences, businesses and school community. As a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a parent I can attest to the wonderful dedication of the administration, teachers and students alike in contributing to wellbeing of the school and it's neighbors.

I don't like this school. Not that much activities to socialize and everything is weird!!! It's very different to other schools, making it hard to familarize yourself if you are new!

The teachers here are outstanding, they have given my daughter and son the confidence to go into the world full speed. The 6th grade teachers are by far the best of the best. They are organized and listen to the parent's needs such as tutoring, and extra credit. My children passed every single test, thanks to the staff. Thier bathrooms are clean, the staff is nice, and the principal is fair and understand that kids are kids. They have great, easy-to-read clocks in every single room. Please listen to this message in which I am confident enough to place on the World Wide Web. Thank You.

About the tests

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the New York State Department of Instruction implemented new assessments designed to be aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See this letter from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes.

In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
