All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My son and I recently visited the Kid Esteem school. We sat in the second grade class and instantly fell in love with the teacher and the school. It felt like such a fun, safe, and relaxable environment for my son to learn in. The teacher stood out to me the most. She was so genuinely nice and very natural when she was speaking to me. I am eager for my son to be starting in the fall.

My granddaughter is in kindergarten and also attended the preK program here. They are a fantastic school! The staff is so caring of everyone that walks threw their front doors. They provide a hands on approach for the different curriculums, smaller classes, more one on one help if needed. Green and Global Consciousness.

Kids Esteem has been a great experience for my daughter who attends their Pre K program. The teachers are excellent and nurturing and the entire school community is so warm and accommodating. My daughter struggled with going to school initially so when it came time to move her from a 3 hour day to a 5 hour day I was concerned. The school suggested we elongate her day an hour at a time and give her room to acclimate. Then add the second hour when she was ready. I was so appreciative that they were willing to be flexible and accommodate the needs of my child. It worked wonderfully.

KID ESTEEM is in my opinion the most caring and strongly structured education for my child. My daughter is benefiting from the low ration per student to teacher, which gives the teacher the opportunity to work one on one and provide each and every student different reading material etc, based on the potential of the student. The staff is nurturing and caring, and most of all safety is top notch. I highly would recommend Kid Esteem for any parent looking for the highest quality of education in a family setting

My son is in his second "preschool" year with this school, and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the school or with his progress. Our older child went to public kindergarten, and my younger son has already surpassed that curriculum at Kid Esteem, at 4 years old. The first thing we noticed about this school is that the teachers and staff genuinely care about all of the students, and they really get to know them on an individual level. Dr. Lee's lessons on emotions have helped our younger son in so many ways, as well. He can actually verbally express what's bothering him instead of throwing a tantrum. And he'll tell you exactly what emotion he's feeling (frustration, anger, excitement etc.), which has helped the whole family. They cover more than reading and math. They encourage socializing, give nature classes, teach life skills (child-sized ones), and offer other things like yoga and basic sign language. We would highly recommend this school for all parents looking to give their children a well-rounded and excellent education.

This is our first year at Kid Esteem and we could not have been happy. They are such a nurturing, loving and caring group of teachers and dedicated staff. My daughter is excited to learn each day and always walks out with a big smile. We look forward to many more years with Kid Esteem!!!

Very happy here. My children have totally different personalities and have really matured and learned how to be excellent readers and love to learn. Lots of interactive class room time. Small classes, they know the kids really well and what excites them. Many types of Art, nature, and social problem awareness along with class lead resolutions, which you don't find emphasized much in larger schools. Classes are limited so there can be a wait. But its worth it for the personalized attention.

Our daughter is currently a third grader in the kid esteem montessori school. The teacher my child has is fantastic! She is working wonders with my daughter! I can see that the teacher invests a lot of time in her teaching both in and out of the classroom. We are immensely proud of our daughter and we would love to thank her teacher for all her hard work too!! Thank you!!

Our daughter began here in Sept 2012 as a 3rd grader. She had such poor elementary school learning experiences in both public school and another private school that she had severe school-related anxiety. That ended when she began at Kid Esteem. She is flourishing there. The teacher is engaged and engaging. The whole staff works cooperatively to provide the best education experience for each child. The teacher and directors are also willing to listen and respond to my questions, concerns and/or comments. No matter what your child's school needs, little or many, this school is fabulous!

My son started in February, since we didn't like the preschool my son was previously attending. My son had no problem adjusting, and was welcomed with open arms. This school is everything and more than what I expected. My son loves going everyday and has learned so much! The teachers are amazing, and most of all patient; you can tell they really care about your child which is very important to me. I would recommend this school to anyone!

Recently purchased MSL is now called Kid Esteem Montessori School. The school is run by Marianne & Lee Chasen, certified teachers and licensed creative arts therapists. They promote social and emotional learning in addition to the NY Standard Math, Spelling, Social Studies, ect. Each child feels special as soon as they walk in the door. What a great school. We LOVE it... Please check it out. It is really worth the investment in your children development as student and as part of our community. The best kept secret in Long Island NO MORE. This is simply the best. The dedication to the individual child is amazing. We just start at this school year 2011-2012 year & we have not been disappointed. I have a 6yr child that love to go to school and is excited to going to the 2nd grade at Kid Esteem Montessori. That kind of request speaks volumes. We are so happy with this school and feel this is one of the best schools on Long Island. We are grateful we found it.

My son started this September with pre-k. We have been very pleased with his progress. Academically he is right where a 4 year old should be. What we've found interesting is that emotionally he seems to be very in tune with his feelings and does a very good job of expressing himself. I know this is because of the school and particularly what Dr. Lee does with the kids. I would highly recommend the school!

Simply 'the best' school I could have chosen for my 6 yr old. Bravo to the staff. She's doing an amazing job in all of her classes, she's grown soooo much as a person since she began at the school. I have no complaints at all!!!!!

Their dedication to education is exemplary. They take every student, every task, every day seriously, and yet it's not burdensome for the kids. My daughter loves her 'work' at monetssori of lindenhurst. The management of the school is beyond dedicated. I can't say enough about it- am available for reference should anyone want to contact me! -sheila jewels

My son has been in MSLfor 5 years. He started in Pre-K at 3 years old. Now in 2nd grade we are so pleased at his progress. He reads at a higher level than others in his grade attending different schools. He loves going daily. He gets Spanish weekyl as well as art. I believe he is in a well balanced school program.I would recommend MSL of Lindenhurst to any Parent looking for a fundamentally strong environment.

My daughter started MSL in Sept. '08 before she even turned 3 years old. We are speechless as to how much she has learned. She really likes her school, especially her teacher. I am an eye doctor and few months ago I was examining her eyes on the letter chart and she read all of the correctly from top to bottom and that was so wonderful to see. I cannot list here all the things she has already learned but I can tell you she is definately ahead of many other 3 year olds. The best thing about MSL is all the kids learn at their own speed. We are so happy with this school and feel this is one of the best schools on Long Island and the City. We are greatful we found it.

We have enjoyed having our daughter in MSL Kindergarten 2008-9. The classroom is quiet, safe and conducive to learning in an independent manner. Our daughter is challenged according to her ability in all subjects including math, science, geography and reading and so is motivated to do well. She enjoys the arts and crafts and many educational songs in English and Spanish, as well as teaching the younger children. We are pleased the school serves only healthy snacks and the kids go outside most days. Our daughter has become more independent and self-confident and has learned many things!

My oldest spent 5 years at this school, my middle child is in her 5th year (2nd Grade) and my youngest is getting ready to start. This school has helped them become independent, self motivated, socially interactive, and love school (and reading). My children have established a solid foundation they will have forever. My oldest is now in an advanced program in his public school and is well rounded in sports and other activities. His transition from this school to public school was completlely seemless. The small classrooms and the fabulous teachers provide an incredible environment for your children to learn and grow. My 2nd grader recently completed a project on a state and had to present it to the class. When she recited this presentation at home we couldn't believe her confidence and understanding she had of the material. They provide Spanish, Art and gym.

Both of my children attended pre-school at MSL and I believe they both entered kindergarten ahead of the game. By the end, they were both beginning to read and write! The children in the classroom range from pre-school to kindergarten and it helps the younger to learn from older and the older to serve as role models. The teachers are nurturing and caring, and actually TEACH the children! The environment lends itself to independence, as they are free to choose their 'work' and finish and return it. Overall, MSL is a great school!

My son is currently a kindergarten student at MSL and he has completely transformed from a reluctant and unenthusiastic learner to a self-motivated, confident and eager student. Not only has he begun to read and write and do multiplication but he has loved doing it. His greatest lesson was learning to love to learn which is an invaluable lesson he will have for life. The dedicated staff has also managed to impart compassion and kindness that he now displays towards others. Sending him to this amazing school was the best decision our family has ever made.

My youngest son is now in his first year of Pre-K and my older son completed three years at this wonderful school. They both learned many skills beyond the basics including manners and kindness and I have been extremely satisfied and pleased with the curriculum, staff and program.

My son went to MSL for two years - and in that time he learned to be independent, POLITE, kind to others, honest, and a self starter. Now that he is in public school, his teachers always ask me what he pre-k was, because they cannot believe how self motivated he is, and also what a caring kid he is to them, and to his classmates. I know from going to bday parties and other events with his MSL classmates that this is not happy accident. Its the way the teachers work with the students, and the peer to peer work that helps little ones to u nderstand the social world around them.

I am the parent of two children who attended the Montessori School of Lindenhurst. The education my children received was excellent. One of my children graduated from the 5th grade and has made the transition to the Middle School level beautifully. Socially they made friendships, which continued after my child graduated from the 5th grade. My children are confident, courteous and compassionate, all qualities, which were encouraged and nurtured at the Montessori School. The class sizes are small ensuring that the children receive individual attention, which most school cannot offer with much larger class sizes. I feel that my children have been challenged at their individual levels. I believe that this was a wonderful investment in my children s future.

I have been fortunate enough to have my two children go to this school and it was the greatest educational and social experience they have ever had. I only wish the school did not stop at the 5th grade. Both of children came out as honor roll students who scored in top 2% of the country on their ELA exams. Now as far as a racial bias, I find that very hard to believe I also have two children of mixed race. One of the things I loved most about the school was its ethnic diversity. My children never once felt out of place in MSL. As a matter of fact, our children' s race was never discussed until they entered the public school where it became a discussion that my daughter had biracial parents. I would highly recommend this school. It cannot be compared

I have two children who are of biracial decent. My eldest is graduating from 5th grade and my youngest is graduating from kindergarden. I have never experienced any issue with racial or cultural biases. The teaching staff is excellent. The staff are all nuturing but they encourage and expect age appropriate behavior, which is a critical component to child development. Since the teacher to student ratio is low, the teachers are very aware of your childs learning style. This makes for a positive experience for all involved. I would highly recommend this school. The owner and principal, Mrs. Moran, is committed to excellence.

My son went to pre-k there and it was the best thing that ever happened to him. I absolutely see a difference in him. His table manners, being very careful with delicate things, ect. He loved it. As for the staff, I can't even describe how amazing they are. Gentle, sweet, soft spoken but allow no noncense (which is needed). My 4 yr old is there now and 2 yr old will be too. Highly recommended

My son entered the pre school this Fall, and within a month I noticed that he was discussing really sophisticated concepts with me. His interest in history has become profound. His Aunt who is a history scholar spoke to him recently and told us 'He has become a wonderfully inquisitive boy! And he knows things that are way beyond his years.' He is also very interested in letters and numbers and in exploring the sciences. I attribute much of this to the wonderful teachers and the excellent curriculum that this Montessori school has offered to my son.

This school is excellent for those parents looking to prepare their children for the tough academic world they face. Children of all backgrounds come to this school and learn about eachother and how it is important to respect and understand other cultures, religion and races. The pre-k, Kind. program is taught with such a passion that all children leave with skills beyond what thye would have gotten in a public school. I have two children enrolled and as a teacher myself, I say there is no better place.

This is a very good pre-school and elementary program (they are now adding classes for up to 5th grade). My children have been in this school since pre-k and they both love it. The classes are small for the elementary level (Approximately 8 students are in my child's 2nd grade class) and this allows the teacher to spend a lot of time with each child when neccessary. My daughter scored over the 90th percentile in her terra novas and I definetely attribute this to the fine teaching skills and dedication of the staff at this school. They have art, music, and language programs also. The facility itself is small but it makes up for its' size with its' quality of education. There are not currently extracirricular acttivities with the exception of tutoring. The parents are welcomed to volunteer for field trips and fund raisers. Overall GREAT SCHOOL!!

My child went here for a year and it seemed to be great for him but as time went on I began to notice little prejudices towards people of color. I was really appalled that in this day and age this still goes on. Obviously I could afford to send him there, so he should not have been made to feel inferior to the rest of the children. I was greatly disappointed and would highly recommend any African-American parents to check the school out thoroughly to see if any changes have been made.
