PS 94 Q is a great place to work. This is a very caring and warm school that offers many services to its students. Learning is fun and the teachers are amazing. Parents are very involved .

PS 94 is a wonderful little public school with a private school feel. The minute you walk through the doors you feel the warmth and everyone knows your name and child. Parents are always welcome and are encouraged to be part of their childs education. The principal Mrs. Barbeosch has an open door policy for both parents and kids. This is just a small piece of what sets the school apart from other public schools. The teachers and staff are the other component. Teachers make it a point to get to know your child and their strengths and weaknesses. A love of learning is fostered and encouraged. The majority of parents are involved. Parents are never penalized for not being involved. There are a large number of working parents who do not have the time to devote to the PTA but are still welcome in the school and are active in their childs education. You will also find the parents who are not happy with anything and look for problems because they are so bored. These are the same parents who will be the first to complain but do not want to contribute anything to help make a difference for their child or the school. I guess they are everywhere.I am very happy with PS 94 and so are my kids.

Such a sad sad school! Its who you know & believe me, if you don't know the right people or take much time from your busy work schedule to kiss a**, your child will suffer the consequenses. Mrs. Barbeosch is all about favoritism! She dotes over the participants of the PTA's children & the rest are at the bottom of the barrel! (A few teachers will do the same) but in all fairness MOST teachers are exc! Oh! And try to join the PTA......You will be treated like an outcast. I couldn't get my child out of there quick enough.

PS94 is tough, Mrs. Barbeosch is tough, and she stands up for her teachers. You're probably at this school because you wanted the best, and the best is tougher. I think you'll find if you attend PTSA meetings and get involved, your relationship with Mrs. Barbeosch can improve a lot.

I have 1 child attending Ps94 and I am very happy by the way he is excelling in school. However I was not pleased by the way I had to find out about a few issue that he had. I would of liked more comunication with the parent and the staff . The principal can sometime be condecending and cold. On the other hand the teachers are wonderful.

I have 2 children in 94 and feel they are receiving an excellent education. The staff is great from the lunch ladies up to the Principal. I am surpised by the ignorance of some of the other reviewers with regards to the Principal- and her name is spelled Barbeosch- you don't know how good we have it- many Principals don't encourage parental involvement, much less welcome you in the building. We have an overcrowded school, with no federal money, and city money being slashed. The focus is the CHILDREN. My kids are happy and love school, so I'll sing her praises because the buck stops with her and she has delivered for my kids.

I am a parent of a child currently at P.S. 94. Many things about the school are great, especially the teachers. They are hard-working, caring, patient . . . Because of them, my child is receiving a good education at P.S. 94. However, the principal is a problem. She fosters an atmosphere of favoritism amongst teachers, parents and even, most unfortunately, the students. Mrs. Barbosch has a negative influence on the entire school. If a new principal were put into place, the school would spring forward.

As a parent with three children in PS 94, I feel tremendously blessed. They are receiving a private school education in a public school atmoshphere. The teachers are all top notch who truly care, work with the parents and put in the time to help with whatever the students need. We all love the principal who makes herself available to every student and parent. Compared to the other public schools in NYC, I know this school is in a class all by itself. Its just too bad that the Chancellor instead of rewarding excellence keeps punishing the school by taking more and more money from its budget -- just because all the students excel and pass the state exams with flying colors. I hope these setbacks doesnt takeaway from its greatness in the near future.

The school is an excellent school which is not a surprise since it is a reflection of the family-oriented, affluent neighborhood that it's zoned for. I would wholeheartedly agree with other parents who say that PS 94 is a citywide top school. With that being said, there is however a slow but steady erosion of very qualified teachers among its ranks. I am concerned about the future of the school. There are some disturbing elements within the school's culture of nepotism and flagrant favoritism. This has to be a product of the principal's leadership. Perhaps a different leadership direction can ensure the school's reputation of excellence in the future. Hopefully it will not be too late.

The quality of the academic programs is great . Most teachers are very good. There are many extracurricular activities available for the children. I am very happy with the level of parents involvement in the school. The best thing is the diversity of the school. However there is a major problem in the school and is the Principal Mrs. Barbeosh. She plays favoritism to a certain group of people. The school would be the best in the district if they chose a new principal.
