I am very impressed by the teachers here. They are very good at what they do, and they are genuinely friendly. I feel confident my children are going to a great school. I really like that this school has a full day kindergarten program, not alot of schools have that these days.

This school is very dirty and unorganized. My son started kindergarten this year and he's told me he saw older kids beating people up and hearing things he shouldn't because the school is attached to the high school. It's not right. Also the drop off is just insane. Buses are all over the place blocking you from easily dropping your child off and moving on with your day. There are so many times people get angry at eachother and accidents almost happen. I do not want my child at this scummy school anymore.

This school is incredible! My son went to Morgan Road for kindergarten and had difficulties with his behavior and fitting in. Not only was his teacher incredibly supportive but the Principal went out of his way to connect with my son. We went back for a visit recently and everyone remembered my son's name and made him feel as though he never left. What a difference compared to the school he attends now. I wish we never left the Liverpool area. Everyone at MRE taught me and my son that school is more than merely learning from books. We will never forget MRE.

This school is excellent. The entire school is so supportive, from the office staff, to teachers, to Principal. There is excellent communication, the Principal & teachers are patient, empathetic, professional. They care about their students, and really get to know and encourage students.

My daughter is in 4th grade at Morgan Road Elementary. She started this year after going to school in another district. At first, I was very concerned about changing schools. I can't say enough about the educational and support system available at Morgan Road and The Liverpool School District in general. It is obvious that the emphasis is on education, diversity and excellence. Children are not forced to fit in but are taught cooperation and and appreciation for individual differences. Liverpool is a wonderful community that embraces and encourages it's children. Corinne Cerminaro

About the tests

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the New York State Department of Instruction implemented new assessments designed to be aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See this letter from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes.

In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
