I am a Student here. I was Bullied in 7th grade the next day when i walked into school the bully was called down to the principal during first period. 0 tolerance for bullying. Honestly i dident even report the bullying so that even shows how attentive the staff and students. The teachers are the best and really care about their students, if they see that your child is failing your child has the option to Go into a support class and the good part about these classes is that they are worked into your day so you dont miss any electives. GREAT SCHOOL. and for the person acouple reviews below me there is NO DRUG USE IN THIS SCHOOL. and the IB classes are not in middle school they are in HIGH SCHOOL. The challenging academic programs are in the 8th grade where students take 9th grade honnor classes in 8th grade...Hard Stuff. The Principal is the nicest man ever every morning he stands out side rain or snow or sun and gives the parents , teachers , and students a GREAT morning Hi Good Morning! a great boost to your day

The BEST choice that I EVER made in my life was to move Bayville for THE BEST SCHOOL!!! I can't get over how wonderful and attentive The Locust Valley Central Middle School is!! This is a FIRST CLASS educational institution! The local private schools should (if they published their stats) be put to shame!!! This is better then ANY private school in the area!! I can not find enough great things to say about the leadership, curriculum, after school sports, activities, etc. The caring nurturing administration, guidance counselors, teachers!! And the 0 tolerance for bullying!!! I wish that I had the opportunity as a child to attend such a GREAT SCHOOL!! If anyone blames a school for drugs they should be ashamed of themselves!! They should look in the mirror at what THEY as PARENTS are teaching their children AT HOME!!! Let's be fair and honest to the schools!!

The school is over rated and the IB program is a lot of hype, kind of leftist. I don't feel comfortable with the drugs either, which is why our kids go to private school.

i went to this school from pre-k through 6th. I'm now in 8th at a different school and it's a lot better. There's a lot of drugs at this school. Not to mention the acedemics aren't the best (although they're not bad). The teachers here are either horrible or great, so if you're sending your kid, hope for the best.

Locust Valley School has improved my childs grades tremendously! I am very pleesed with their teachers and how much time they spend on work, projects, and productive learning. Their teachers are very trained and know what there talking about. They prepare for the NY state test by giving pretests for them and a variouse number of sheets based on what is going to be on the test and ways to prepare for it like giving them each a folder with about 6 sheets based on the material that will be on the test and giving that a due date for about 3 weeks. It really helped my child improve. If you want your child to go to a good school that will raise his/her grades choose Locust Valley School.

It's a hidden gem. I love the district - have been here since my daughter was in kindgergarten and she's now in 8th grade with a 95 average in all honors classes and in OMEGA, which is for the gifted.
