This school is unprepared to handle the influx of children from different backgrounds and languages, and overall they do a poor job. Some of the teachers try their best, but others are just not up for the job (Ms. Perozzi, for example, if she is still teaching) was a bad teacher. She found it easier to blame the students, but forgot that a bad teacher like her can t teach. The principal, of course, agreed with her staff and did nothing to improve the bad teaching methods of Ms. Perozzi. Some teachers because of their tenure do a mediocre job hurting these children. This school is in great need of a good leader, not someone with tenure but someone with the adequate experience.

only saving grace are the teachers who still care about the children unlike the inept principle Her Royal Majesty Queen Geller, at one time she was probably a good teacher, but like most people placed in positions of authority it just went to her head. This school is so mismanaged and micromanaged its core duty to educate is lost and children suffer in the end. The school is all about rules, guidelines, and procedure. Parents are kept behind yellow lines and barricades herded in like cattle at dismissal violating fire department maximum occupancy codes and creating a dangerous condition for the children.

Had horrible experiences with this school. If you have a good child do not enroll them here. The principle doesnt handle any situation well. My child was bullied and got hurt on a frequent basis and she basically dismisses everything as if its not a big deal.

My daughter attended PS 70 for Kindergarten and 1st Grade and I can tell you that the school is grossly overcrowded. The school aides cannot keep their eyes on all the children during reecess and as a result children are hurt - by accident or in fights - every single day. The principal appears to have an open door policy but simply does so to pacify a parent an often seems to have her own agenda. My major objection is that they mix non-english speaking students with english speaking students and expect the children to teach each other the language. As a result, my child was not learning to her potential. Myhusband and I both attended PS 70 as children and were thrilled to be able to have our daughter attend until we realized things certainly have changed!

I have a child in Pre-K. I have been most impressed by the openness of the school's staff to help get new parents acclimated to the environment.

This school gets an A+ from our family, My daughter is entering 4th grade and has been there since Kindergarden, before moving to the city my parents dreaded me enrolling my daughter into the'New Yorks City Public School system' We interveiwed dozens of expensive private schools. This school toped any of those schools. It has a happy medium of teachers that go the extra mile, an involved principle, and staff & medium # of students per class- about 18/22. Very family oriented, I cannot say enough about this school!!
