Lynbrook South Middle School

i am an 8th grade student at south middle and i absolutley love this school with all my heart<3 the teachers are amazing and the school is amazing!!!

I would agree the children are getting a great education but at what cost? I have a perfectionist child who gets average 95 on all tests. They get 3 to 5 hours of homework a night 6 days a week.. I have a sixth grader who said all he does is homework and go to school. He had to drop out of boy scouts his choice. He had too much homework. The math teacher is cruel with how much homework he give a boy that is a son of a engineer and computer scientist and a natural math genius. For example they get 25 questions day for homework in math each night and a take home math quiz each week consisting of pages and pages of questions. My husband is a engineer and says it would take him a hour to do. The science teacher rates them down if their stories are not creative enough. What does this have to do with science? I could cry at what this school is doing to my son and he is one of the brite children. I do not recommend this school though it get the best scores for all middle school in nassau. All the teachers give more than the recommended 20 minutes a night. I feel terrible giving this review but no one at the school is help us.

Lynbrook South is a good middle school. The principal seems to be doing a good job. The guidance counselors are very responsive if you have a problem involving a hot issue (i.e., bullying, drug use)however, if you have another not-so-hot issue, there isn't much of a response.
