It's a warm and loving place that teaches kids about the life long joy of learning. CWS also encourages a beautiful sense of community based on the teachings of Martin Luther King.
The school has such a big heart and soul and the kids grow up to be strong, thoughtful conscious people
It's so warm, everyone knows my child! The teachers are thoughtful and open and the administration cares deeply about the kids.
It has the cutest and kindest kids and teachers to love and remember all your life
I have to diagree with May 12th publication, as well as the October 17th publication, though I do respect their opinions. If you are a 9-5 looking for a decent school, than you've come to the right place. However, if your child excels syllabi curriculum than this school fails to engage the child and fails to meet the needs of the individual child. The arts department needs lots of work...being that this is not a title I school you'd expect PTA funds to be appropriated more towards the arts. Forget about athletics. The faculty is very nice, yet very stiff and a bit intimidating. It was a really disappointing school experience. As for May 12th's comment on self identity...hmm isn't that the parents job?
We've had kids in this school for 10 years. It's been an excellent experience; we will miss it when our second child graduates this year.
this school is best for parents that wish to engage their child in their quest for self identity and to instill the confidence needed for social change. do not attempt to send your child here if your measure for an excellent education revolves anywhere around test scores or penmanship. trust that the educators here will cater to your child's social, emotional, and academic growth as if they were their own children.you could not get any better than CWS.
Given the wide range of the student's socio-economic backgrounds and academic abilities within each classroom, the teachers do a fantastic job in attending to each and every student, paying particular attention to fostering a sense of community. The administration and staff does miracles on a very limited budget, and the very active PTA supplements the restrictive public funding with many enriching programs and events.
