Looks like nothing has changed since the comment made on December 16, 2005. Really check this school out before moving to Marion Central School District.

All schools have positive and negative aspects but as a whole my family has been very pleased with our children's experiences at MCS. There has been a huge turnover of teachers due to retirements in the last 5 years, to the benifit of the students. Most of the the teachers are 'on their game' and are willing to go to great lengths to help a student succeed. Administratively this school has had to make several difficult decisions due to declining enrollment and the general economics of the state which have unfortunately been unpopular.

Marion school system does not have a school board they have puppets to which the administration of the school play with. I will be so happy when my last child is through this school system. I am one of the lucky ones that has children who are able to teach themselves certain subjects. As the good teachers are let go and the ones who do not care are left. A total rebuilding of administration, starting at the top, is needed soon.

Marion High school's administration and school poicies are in serious need of repair. Please do not send your child to this school unless you want them to sacrifice their education.

The admininistration at Marion has made many uninformed, bad decisions over the past few years. Many teachers at Marion have no clue how to control a classroom, let alone teach. The amount of extracurricular activities has also decreased, leaving almost no options for students. Overall, this school used to be a great school. Now, unfortunately, because of new administration, it is a school in need of major improvement.
